I am looking at some 17x9 +30 GTR wheels and want to know if I will have any problems at the front.

I am looking at running either:

    235x45 R17 or 245x40 R17 or possibly even 255x40 R17 on the fronts

Def the 255x40 R17 on the rear.

This zed is mainly used for autotest, sprints and track work hence the wider and lighter wheels and tyres.

Will fit perfect, i have 18x9" +30 on the front of my zed, with a 235/40/18 only because they don't have Pzero Corsa in a 245/35/18.

On the rear you could go a 265 tyre

Give me a week or two and I'll post up some pics of mine. I've got 19x9 +30 R33 GT-R rims and some 235/45R17 A048 MH's that will be going on, I just need to get the tyres mounted to the wheels.

They should fit fine. The math makes sense.

    It's a good-looking rim, too.

Is anyone running 255 R17 tyres on the front of their Zeds on a 17x9 Wheel?

Does it fit or does it require the front wheel arch to be flared?

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

    What suspension are you running?

If it's stock, with your 9" +30 wheel, on a 255 you'll scrub - particularly around hard corners.

So you'll at least need to roll your guard lips. (easy and cheap to do at your local wheel fitter)

also you may need to put stiffer suspension in so it has less travel to help.

Put it this way, i'm running a 19x9" +15 offset on my fronts with a 235. The equivilent in a 255 tyre would make my offset +25. which in fact makes my fronts stick out even further than yours. So yes it's doable, but i've got coilovers set very firm on the front, rolled guard lips and some shaving done to my plastic inner guard for them to "just" fit.

...so in summery, don't use the 255's on your fronts with a +30 offset. Not worth the hassle. Just get some 235's on there.

My AUD $0.02 for you :)

    AndyMac Better than you

On top of all that 255's on the front are a waste on a zed street car. 235's are ideal. With 245's and up you will experience tramlining and steering problems where the front will want to follow imperfections in the road such as expansion joints and crack repairs, etc.

911 GT3's and GT2's as well as the lambo diablo all ran 235's on the front...are you thinking you can out steer and out brake these boys?

i bet 255s wont grip much better than 235s on the front especially when braking :p

...and more chance of aquaplaning in the wet with the 255's on front, giving less steering control.
