Too scared of what I'd want to do if I pulled the motor though. It's one of those jobs, once you've done it would be a lot easier and quicker the second time around
yeah that's fair enough. Can't stand to think of having a Z32 these days that the motor hasn't come out of while I've had it - so much you can do. I guess yours is a much newer car so it needs less work.
I've been driving the car a lot the last week. The car is running great, but now has an intermittent high idle issue. At idle sometimes it sits at 2,000rpm. Also while coasting occasionally the idle is too high and the car wants to keep accelerating. Butterflies don't appear to be sticking & if it was an air leak it would be constant. I'll give some of the electrical connectors a clean & see how that goes. Either way, not a huge deal. Here are just some random pics from the last week. Went up to Powercruise for a look. Was a little disappointed in the lack of variety. It's the 3rd time I've gone up, don't think I'll bother again. It's a 5 hour round trip to get to Symmons Plains. When I went back to the car to leave I was greeted by this superb parking effort. Ended up having to stay a couple more hours waiting for the brain dead bogans to move their rusty VT commy so I could get out. After parking in a dry grass field at Symmons Plains, the engine bay covered in brown dust/dirt, but not for long. Notice the neighbours cars, he has a SRT8 300C, BMW M4 & his partner drivers a soccer mum BMW SUV. I went to my first Cars & Coffee event which is a nice 35 minute drive away. Someone was kind enough to take these pics while I was there. Lastly a pic from my friends dash cam as we were leaving C&C.
Intermittent high idle is often sticking idle air valves. The ones on the back of the passengers side head. Mine does it regularly and just holds the idle up to around 1800 then it falls back of its own accord. Most guys seem to remove them and take to them with carb clean but since they are a solenoid valve then having it running then spraying some solvent in there may be a good strategy. E
You're probably right, Evan. I did pull it apart and clean it when the plenum was off. It's probably dry and sticking, might squirt some lube in there.
Just some pics trying on different shoes. These are the wheels I was planning on getting last year. Work - Emotion D9R 18x9.5+23 & 18x10.5+30. After sharing with a fellow Z member, this so called member ordered them. Can't have two Z's in the area with same wheels so the search continues. Anyway, so called member brought the wheels over to see what they'd look like fitted.
Got the same wheels, but in black, the gold and white looks nice! Hope your happy with them too :br: out of curiosity what size tyres/brand did you fit?
