    Back on the road again......

All up it was a great tech day.

Unfortunatly we were unable to completly remove and replace both O2 sensors due to rust and siezed passenger side sensor. Fortunatly we were able to jerry rig the old sensor in to plug the hole so I could get home.

Thank you all those who helped out, I know I couldn't have done it myself if I tryed.

I did manage to get home safely without blowing out the 'plug'. It was slow going trying not to spool the turbos.

Thanks to Garry's donor Dump pipes the white beast is back on the road. hopefully wont have to go through that again for a long time.

Thanks again for a great day.

POST TECH DAY .... FOLLOW UP JOBS >>> !!!!! many thanks ..

to zed4life for identifying my potential power steering bearing problem ... by tuesday, over at rob's place, the noise had developed significantly and on rob's advice we whipped it straight up the road to autotech (Gavin woods)... first check, no fluid in reservoir and after top up, a pool of fluid on the workshop floor .. diagnosis, split high pressure hose and now repaired ... SAVED !!!!!

and many thanks to k-zed for his incredible patience and time in identifying and repairing my r/s mongoose alarm/central locking issue ..now have remote lockie/openie back in action ...hallelujah ..!!!

black baz ... happy boy ...!!

    Changing the TPS

    hmm...

on the wednesday before tech day i got my car dyno tuned...

at the tech day the consult showed me that the tps was 0.1 out (was 0.32 should of been 0.44)

we reset this, car felt good but was detonating after 5000 RPM........

Took it back to tuners today and they said.... Changing the TPS affected the tune, and that it was advancing too much! The guys retarded my timing until it stopped detonating, all is good now......

    Be warned....

PS Me and another guy had to sit on the back of my car so it would hold traction on the dyno! Damn those turbos are noisy!

What ECU & boost do you run?

Correct TPS setting is circa .45v, [anything between .40 & .50 is ok], therefore something else is wrong with your tune and you may not be getting all available power as the ECU relies on a correct TPS setting for fuel mapping.

Might be a good one to post up in Zed-related forum.??

    I had similar problem

Needed timing pulled out at high RPM.

    timing pulled out?

so how exactly is this done?

    i think i'll get a power FC.

    Re: timing pulled out?

Gavin Wood re-tuned my ECU & retarded timing in the high rpm maps so I could run 14psi.
