Wow, what a beaut day, thanks Garry & Tracey for turning on a BIG welcome, BBQ & drinks :thumbsup:

26 Zed's in total - Garry will do a write up shortly with pics. Needless to say, lot's of jobs completed but a few diagnosed, mainly hard to access vacuum leaks, left for another day.

The Gold Coast convoy enjoyed the run home with no problems although it was NOT without some action....

Shortly after joining the Bruce Highway in heavy traffic, and on a nice straight, instinct caused me to check my speed. Almost simultaneously, I spotted one radar & laser [directed at me] from the left shoulder, then 500m further ahead another laser from the centre [RH] emergency vehicle X'ing! Seconds later a biker came past at well over 200 clicks & one pursuit car followed [hopelessly] shortly thereafter ... neither to be seen again.

I'll let others tell their stories from today ... MYREDZED has one relating to FATE which cracked us all up. :LOL::LOL::LOL:

yeh thanks to all the guys..



i was conzulted (problem fixed), blown up (2 probs fixed) my noisy fuel pump sorted and some other niggles.... I'm about to check every connector in the engine bay as i have seen what problems arise...



Oh, I also did a favour for fleet/pete by removing his fuel pump control unit, or whatever it is.... well not exactly a favour!



Even my Hayabusa riding house mate had a great time!

Id like to be the first one to thank Garry for an excellent tech day for us QLDers. Thanks to him personally again for the assistance with boost leaks.

The worst part of it, was the unreal presence of police on the return journey. It was about a 10min trip for me to get home, and i managed to go past 2 speed cameras, and 3 radar guns. Fate they can smell you now.

A little excitment on the way home, was the police car 'trying' to chase a motorbike along the highway(one of the radar guns must have picked him) The holden poh-poh car had nothing.

Welcome again to ScottZ and Elle, hope you guys enjoyed your time, and hope to see you on a cruise in your own zed soon!

Thanks again to Garry and his family for opening up their house to all us bogans.

Excellent tech day. A big thank you to Garry for hosting it..

My intermittent misfire proved an early challenge to the technical prowess of Rob, Garry and others, but, with perseverance and a process of elimination, by days end the culprit was diagnosed - a badly deteriorated coil pack connector - when Garry applied the timing light to each connector harness in turn...no lighty worky!

I'd driven down to Brisbane from Toowoomba on 5.5 cylinders in the morning, and purred back home in the afternoon after spending a great day looking at, talking about, and working on Zeds. What a great association of Zed owners we have.

Sorry Mate.

Fixed a couple of leaks on my Z and OMG What a diffence she is to drive.

Small things make big differences. Found out that my Seatbelts have been ripped from there sockets and thus the reason you have to be on an angle for it to work.

Does anyone have a suggestion for who to take it to to possible weld in some new plates and brackets???

Baz, that was a really close call with that TWIT in the Corolla. Still not sure how you managed to avoid it.

Was kinda hoping you'd hit for your sake mate. That dent you've got on the back left of your car could've been covered by insurance. That jerk was doing well over 130km/ph.

Thanks to everyone that was at the TECH DAY for teaching me how to actually do some work and not just assign my Brother to do the jobs i should be doing.

Oh well you get that.

Thanks to everyone that helped out with my car - zed4life (of course), Candu, Black Baz, Zepplin and anyone else I may have forgotten about.
Sorry Garry for destroying your ramps - but better your ramps than my car I suppose.

It was great to meet up with everyone again and to meet some new poeple who I may even remember!

K-Zed, zed4life and CBZXs fix it or f*ck it policy seemed to work out OK with cars only temporarily f*cked. Remind me to change my O2 sensors somewhere close to home...

Once again a great day - and thanks to the hosts who gave us the site for the event and the great bunch of people who turned up who made it enjoyable. And the rain Gods who finally took a day off!

Tech DAY

:zlove::zlove::zlove: AHH WHAT A DAY!!!!..

Was great to meet everyone and there lovely Zed's.

1st of all .... FATE!!!!! Jeees... i'll have to be carefull now. I'll explain the story to u all mow.. For those of you that dont know i also have a large rear wing on the back of my red zed..

1:30am sunday morning ... driving out of Surfers Paradise .. an unmarked cop drives the other way ... and yep .. U turn ... follow me for bout 2km .... then FLASH FLASH Whooop Whooop... police ...
So i pull over.. get out of my car and get confronted by a very rude and abrupt police officer... "Get Back in your car" ... well the attitude continued from there .... i asked if they were a little bored this evening seeing as they had to do a u turn to pull me over .. and he let lose ... " your a little smart a&&" etc etc .. "we know what your like" ... and your car ...
To my amazement of course... IVE ONLY HAD IT ON THE ROAD 5 WEEKS.!!!!

So the grief continued ... let me go ... no ticket anything ... and i was Bewildered ...

So sunday i meet Fate .. with a red zed and a damn big wing on the back ... and he's a Gold Coaster... " ahh i'm blacklised " Well thanks mate ... u get me in the crapper know lolol .. The police believed i was him ... so know his record will have me pulled over on a constant basis ... :angry: ..

I had a great day .. enjoyed meeting everyone and assisting in diagnosis with my Conzult,

ScottZ and Ellie, was great to meet you both .. and best of luck in finding the right Z, my pleasure to give you a lift.

I have a couple more Vac leaks to resolve and all will be good from there ...

I'm heading back to the Gold Coast today .. and wont have to listen to the Damn "DING DING DING" speed warnig !!! YAY ...
