Just a pic of mine installed (for anyone interested how it looks on a Z)

It only lowers ground clearance by like 5mm. So not a drama

    Please excuse the dirty underbelly!

remember the sump is practically inline with the front wheels so there is very little chance of bottoming out!

By the looks of things you'd hit the exhaust long before you'd be high enough to hit the sump.

I agree.. but theres always a chance expecially when your lowered alot...

would really suck to suddenly dump your oil when driving... lol

that was my concern ,especially if you happen to hit a pothole lol
not to mention it is going to hook everything you dodge and run over on the road ,plastic bags, rocks flicked up,sticks, tree branches, etc, etc

nice looking piece of equipment, but for the sake of saving a few minutes once a year, not worth the danger imo

loud'n'proud i dont think you would have any problems with this. first of all the sump is pretty much inline with the front wheels as mentioned. how are you possibly going to hit the sump going over something. unless obviously there is a bloody big rock just sitting on the rd. even then i seriously think you would take out your front bar. not to mention your side skirts. plus this is a very strong product, i dont think it would break off if hit. being bolted in if anything it would bend the sump.... and lastly if you are scraping the sump then you have bigger problems :)... doesnt the chasis rail sit lower than the sump?

i can see you trailing 1000 safeway plastic bags down prinny hwy chad :D,a bit like the time you went to the boghouse and had toilet paper stuck to your arse and trailing behind you lol

lol there is no chance of that. if i ever see a plastic bag and dodge it and if i dont see it in my review mirror i stop straight away afraid that it has got caught in the front bar blocking air to radiator

if we're talking about dangerous mods then lowering your whole car is far more likely to put the sump in danger. what is 5mm on the sump when ppl happily lower the whole car by another 1 - 2 inches?

its not that.. its the extra 5mm after you have already lowered your car 1"-2"

    extremely unlucky....

for the device to open, the spring clip has to be pushed down and turned about 90 degree's. For both of these things to happen at the same time, you would have to be extremely unlucky... and I would say that it would be virtually impossible...

if people are concerned about the drain valve hitting things, then their car is low enough for the sump to hit and encounter objects. If that is the case, you're screwed anyway, because once the sump is dented you run the big risk of oil starvation.

hey guys i installed mine weeks ago and thought id take a pic just to show you guys that it doesnt lower the clearance.

at first i screwed it in asper normal and the tap pointed down (which did lower the clearance). didnt really want to lower the clearance (not that anything would happen), but i grind back a few threads on the tap...this way it allowed me to screw it in so that once nicely tight it faced back instead of straight down.

like this the sump and tap we almost pretty much even... it may look a lil lower in the pic but thats just because of the angle/place ive taken the pic from....

and if you werent happy with that you could take a few more threads off and it would sit straight up, which would then no chance be lower than the sump clearance ;). but i was happy with it there so i left it at that...
