Wow Jono, would never of thought but if it's for attaining property it is a wise move. Definintely worth the money you are asking, I would be putting something close to that on mine if I were to sell.

    You can't be serious

That's the nicest WHITE 'Z' on this whole forum. I've always admired the look & stance of your 'Z' Jono, it would be ashame to see it go,but if you have to you have to. Just make sure you exhaust all avenues to obtain the funds you require before you start selling off your possessions, because it doesn't always work out to be the best way to go. Anyway good luck with what ever you choose to do.

    Cheers
    Grahame

    No longer for sale...

At this stage SIM300 is no longer for sale. Thanks for your positive comments, and thanks to those who showed interest.
I think I would regret selling at this stage, and have already lined up more parts, and have more plans for her yet.
Thanks again, I don't know what I was thinking :bash: :zlove:

Z is up for sale again. I have been thinking about it the last few months, and I have lost the passion (which I never thought would happen). I need a break from the car scene, and plan to start fresh when the time feels right.

I redid the 100k service just over a month ago, new everything (pullies/studs/seals etc...), and more engine detailing (all up cost over $1500). The car is rarely driven these days. Oil is changed every 3,000-5,000k's by myself using high quality oil. I have never boosted the car over 10psi, except for when I had a power run on the dyno at 14psi (256rwkw). The car is capable of 280+kw with an upgraded fuel system.
I would like this car to go to another enthusiast like myself, who will take good care of her :zlove:

Hardly seems worth it to buy property. What I mean is for around $20,000 you get to put down a decent deposit on property. You can always buy another Zed later, right? Maybe.

Put it this way, you'll have to get the money again from either selling something like the property and hopefully along with the some decent equity, then spend the extra (at future possibly higher prices) on the car to get it back up to this Zed's current immaculate condition (or what ever car you choose to have at that time) Or you hope to be doing better job-wise and this you can tip into your new car.

If you can save the deposit on the property or fund it another way you will find in 6 months, a year whatever that the passion will have returned and you will be howling you sold such an immaculate example. I went through all this for the same reason and wish I never sold my immaculate XW Fairmont 6 years ago. It's worth mega bucks now and I put so much effort into that car that's why it's worth so much! Should have just borrowed the money I needed at the time instead! Even if you need to put it up on blocks and a cover over it, try to hang on to the Zed Sim.

    Exactly what I'm doing atm...

sorry but i have to agree, with everyone here selling the zeds to buy property ect, its really a buyers market.

one can go out and do his research and come back with 5 or more possible zeds that are worth more then the asking price.... simply not worth it IMHO.

either way mate, good luck with the sale....looks like everyone is doing it tough atm.

I hear what you are saying Brad, & I do hope I don't regret selling. But since the car was broken into, it was kind of the final straw for me. It's strange, but I just can't look at the car the same way. As sick as this sounds, it's like your wife being raped. In my eyes, she has been violated, and I can't look at her the same... as hard as I try.

The sale is not for funds to obtain property, as I already have that sorted. I'm firm with the asking price of $21,000. Personally, I consider it a steal. The amount of time, money and effort I have put into this car is HUGE! Someone has the chance to pick up an immaculate example in my time of weakness.

If it doesn't sell, I will simply take it off the market... But I would like it to go to someone who will continue to evolve the car, and enjoy it like I once did.

I do plan to get back into a Z at a later date, but will be taking a totally different angle to the one I have taken with this prime example.

Common Simmo, people jump in my car all the time while it's at shows without permission but I still love her! Buy a car cover, walk away for a month and don't think about it. I found buying a cover stopped me thinking too much about all the mods and issues they will cause etc every time I rolled into the garage, but since I got the call on monday that my new turbos are ready I think I might peel back the bonnet cover and have a drink and map out what to do next :) No pressure, no time issues, just how can I make it BETTER!

    Evolve it yourself!

2nded. You can't sell Jono! Imagine how devastated your future children will be  I understand where you're coming from not feeling right about it since the break in but take solace in the fact nothing was taken or vandalised aside from the window. Really, you have had a great run with no such issues in your ownership - would be a shame selling over a broken rear quarter window. Everyone treads in dog shit once in a while...

Plus my Zed had it's targa smashed when parked outside my bro's house a while ago. Pretty much just spurred me on to fix it and evolve it some more too.

SIM, you have a car that is admired by many including myself. I would honestly say i was in the same boat as you about 3 years ago. I was sick of the car and all its hastles. The little niggly things were really starting to annoy me.
As DUB has said, do yourself a massive favor, get a car cover, park it and get a daily.
I really struggled to get the cash together for a daily but it has made life so much simpler. And it makes the zedding experience even more worthwhile. Because you forgive the car for all its misgivings when you only drive it for pleasure, once in a while.

Don't sell man, you will regret it later on and it will hurt even more if you see someone else wrap it round a pole...
