this is a nice car as im sure most perth zed owners will agree

having worked in a many caryards and valued many cars i would expect this car to be on the lot for around $25000 and i think that at that price it would not sell straight away, but it would sell......:D
the only thing holding it back is the cars age,but thats the same with most zeds around in australia(most, not all)
although i wouldnt buy this car personally cause its a two seater,i think it is extremely good buying for anyone considering a two seater zed.....
transfer costs will be expensive however.....
    just my 2 cents
hope and expect you will get a buyer

Brad, I think it is worth $27,000

I too have replaced most cosmetic things such as weather seals and interior plastics & know how expensive these parts are. It’s all about attention to detail, & I know that you pride yourself on everything being immaculate. I for one can really appreciate the effort & money it has taken to achieve.
If I were forced (god forbid) to sell my Zed I know I would not take under $20,000 for it, & I think SIM300 has a lot of catching up to be in the same class as PHATT.

Good luck with the sale Brad (even though I’d rather see it stay with you).

But mate if these guys are right and this thing will only go for high teens to low 20s then i may be interested when my zed sells and if the current zed im interested in falls through, will let you know when this is closer but as said above if it goes for the lower priced end i just cant afford te money you are talking about originally.

yeah I think this price is probably worth it for someone in the market for a "new" zed rather than a killer track machine

  6. Worth every Penny

I have a '95 TT that is fairly stock. To suggest that high modding increases the value of a zed or any car is a misconception in itself. Highly modded vehicles are worth LESS than a vehicle in the stock form. Dub has done clever mods to his car. He allows it to breath better and improves its cooling. They are WORTHwhile mods, unlike bigger turbos, blow off valves etc. This car has been well maintained and is worth every penny, but tat the end of the day, its a buyers market. As already mentioned, it is the perceptions of the buyer, plus you are selling to a limited no. of people at this price for this car. I wouldn't sell it for less than $25k. Lovely example BTW :zlove:

sorry dub for kinda spamming in your forsale post mate.

but this guy has no clue! BOV is a worthless mod? do you even know what they do, i would think something that extends the life of the turbo and engine to be a valuble modification to have done.

and by all means a modified car will be worth more then a stock one, because it is modified! modifications are not free my dear friend. your you would pay 30k for a bog stock gtr32 instead of a gtr 32 with the works, fresh rebuild+bodykit etc. you would be a mental case.

and i wouldnt say his car is like buying a new car. because facts are its 15 years old and has 70 000klms on the clock. or something similar.

it is a MINT condition car, fully maintained well looked after without a cent to spare! but not a new car, would drive similar to a new car, but like i said...

again best of luck with the sale dub and i apologise for posting again.

  8. Your not sorry at all, so dont apologise.
Regarding your BOV comment, Im talking about the legalities of them, you would be suprised the no. of people who would stay clear of a car with BOVs beacause they are illegal among other things.

I have seen many examples in my time of stock vehicles selling for more than modded cars. A well looked after stock car can be worth a pretty penny.

Where did i mention anywhere that this car is new?

Lastly there is no need to make personal attacks on someone. We are all entitled to our point of view.

Love the car dub, i'd buy it in an instant if I had that kinda paper laying around, but in saying that, I agree with the others, I don't think you will get what you are asking.

As to BOV's been a worthless or worthwhile mod, since we have recirc valves, unless these are busted, for the power that PHATT is putting out, they are kinda worthless. Above a certain horsepower they are needed but not at this level. Unless of course you want the psshhtttt noise, then of course their worthiness is up to you.

BTW, I saw DUB on the roads a while back, I really like it. Further plans for it?

Edit: Wasn't trying to start a shit fight, just saying they are not necessary until higher horsepower levels at which point the recirc valves can't cope.

if i wasnt sorry i wouldnt say it.

now you making direct comments towards me forcing me to do something im against and post in his topic again.

go on NS and this site and search my name, look at my posts in For Sale threads if im not interested i apologise for commenting.

it is my understanding that the recirc valves assist in the point but ultimatly dont work as well as a BOV, as that warm air still goes back in.

dub another thing to consider would be to get some recipts you have laying around, i have seen a purchase of a mint condition car such as your own, and it was purchased by someone in there 40's and got all of the recipts+service history. that was a 180sx, but not the point.

some people enjoy seeing how much money they are saving by reading about what has been spent.

best of luck with the sale mate, it seriously is a mint machine, im sure she will be missed.

That 1st comment is a little mis-leading, it infirs all cars that have had thousands spent on them do not experience an increase in value from before the money was spent, which is simply in-correct.

To answer your qu, it has replaced plastics/body rubbers because the rubbers do get brittle after a while in the sun, but a scratch on the plastics, even a little one, pisses the hell out of me, so I wanted them to be like new to match the rest of the car. Who cares what condition it was in before hand, things need refurbishing after a time, and I'm sure if you asked anyone who wants their wish list granted they would replace worn plastics/rubbers in an instant.
Why go to the extent of re-doing the paint, lights and glass on the outside if you're not going to make the inside just as stunning? Seams a bit half assed if you are serious about rebuilding a car and you dont.

would everyone stop reply "yes it's worth it" or "no it's not" because the man just wants to sell the thing... he doesn't need a debate in his for sale thread...

chuck it in the auto trader, carsales, etc dude.... i don't think you'll get any interest here.

    well actually, he asked.

it does look like a hijack, but if you read above, he asked it people think its a fair price.

Sorry Dub, wasn't trying to denegrate you car or efforts you've put in. You asked for opinions and I gave one. I apologise if i have offended you. I must correct you though on your first point about cars having $$$ spent on them increasing in value. You say that this is incorrect but I can name quite a few people who have spent lot of money on their cars and have not got any extra for them upon re-sale. True, not all cars, but thats not the statement i was making.

Cheers and again, good luck with the sale.

    Yep he asked opinions.

I think it would have trouble selling in perth but a good starting point to negotiate.

Brad, Had I known you wanted to sell..

I would've GLADLY taken it off your hands at the Nats and it was right here in NSW (Damn an oportunity missed) since then I've purchased a 2 seat 95 TT manual, OH the pain! and for those of you who think its too dear, I bet you have not seen it in the Flesh.....I have 3 Zeds and Damn, I keep thinking the PHATT could've been one of them :( stick to your guns mate and dont undersell that DREAM MACHINE :zlove:

Absolutley mate. This car is what dreams are made of. Being a fellow enthusiast, if I knew of this a few months ago, I would've been on the phone in an instant.

I personally think it's abit of a shame having to lower the price, and maybe even selling her to someone that doesn't have half the appreciation for her, as what we do.

Anyway, just my input. Wish you all the best with the sale mate. Absolute favourite Zed of all time.

    :) Newmo
