Has won Top Modified 300ZX at last Nissan/Datsun Nationals in Goulburn NSW as well as multiple other show awards too, and drives like you would expect. $27,000 as is, and this is a bargain for the coin that has gone into this Zed. Would be great to see it go to a member of this forum. Pictures on request.
only if... im p platered zedder in perth.. can i see what a real zed looks like??? my email is danny_trev@hotmail.com if i won lotto this wknd u mite have had a buyer
I like most all other perth zedders have seen phatt up close.... worth every penny and maybe more imo....
PHATT has been my dream car from day one on these forums! I only hope it goes to a good home. Someone in Qld buy it so I can see it in the flesh lol Best of luck DUB
Just a question Do people think this is too much to ask for this Zed? It will be advertised in the mainstream shortly, but helpfull feed back is always good.
I think your price is fair... Considering I know other prices of zeds and their condition. Knowing the quality of the PHATT Zed and the money you have put in to it - you would not be able to build a zed to that standard from scratch. So to answer your question, YES it is worth that much money for it. - BUT it's just a matter of finding someone that can see the value in paying that money for a 15+ year old car. Keep at it mate, and don't sell yourself short. You have one impecable car there and it would be a shame to see it go for less. Just my AUD$0.02 worth. Cheers, Ben.
to be honest??? i dont think you have a chance if getting that much for it.. its a tidy zed, sure.. but theres no mods really i personally think you will get 20 for it if you wait awhile..
Firstly cheers for the input, but this is no close to stock Zed. Things like the FMIC, hard pipes, boost controller, full leather interior, short throw shifter, full stanless exhaust, modified clutch, top end audio, hard pipes, mags, suspension, body-kit, removed antenna/wiper are all modifications. That's not forgetting the renewed things like the paint, timing belt/tensioner/bearings, water pump, centre tailshaft bearing, tail lights, head lights, spot lights and a full replacement of all interior plastics, rubbers, Series 2 PTU etc. It has a proven 362RWHP in this guise, which seems to be at the higher end of the scale as far as Zeds go. What kind of mods would you think necessary to add to that list?
Second Benny on that Brad! That being said this is one of the most immaculate Zeds I have ever seen and was a standout at Goulbourn, pitty to see you sell it, Good luck with the sale mate, MattB
I appreciate your input guys, thankyou for taking the time to give it. Yes the Zed will be missed on sunny days when all you want to do is get out in the country and crank it, targas in the boot, but while I could sit it in a shed for years and never use it, it would be better to see it getting used by an enthusiast that appreciates what has gone into it. Or maybe it might turn into an urban legend of the sweet zed stored on blocks for years ... I'd rather sell it though.
gotta agree with minivan your z is imho the best looking, and the most tastefully modified z to grace the forums, but it doesn't have any big ticket mods. for that kind of price tag, people will want aftermarket turbos, rebuilt engine with aftermarket internals, and so forth. i sincerly hope i'm wrong and you do get this figure. low 20s will be closer to the mark i think however.
i agree with minivan, i think you would be lucky for over low 20's. asking price is what id expect to pay for a real ripper of a zed. but its ur choice do what you like and best of luck with the sale she looks great.
Just because it hasen't got a FULLY worked engine with 500+hp that would be a PIG to drive, does this straight away make this NOT a ripper Zed? It is still a powerful engine compared to most, but people need to look beyond the HP rating for a quality car! DUB has spent the BIG dollars on this car so other purchasers don't have to. - everything you dream of doing to a Zed has been done in this car. And rather than a full bred racing zed, he has built a very classy zed that would be a pleasure to drive and look at. - Horses for courses i suppose.
Worth more than $27K IMO For that sort of quality, thats an awesome price. Its about time we start seeing zed prices go for a more realistic sale than the quick cheapie sales. If anyone wanted to do a project of this magnitude, it would cost them far more to do on their own, and considerable time off the road. I say, stick to your asking price of $27K. Well worth it, and then some. Whoever gets it for that price is one luck sob!!!
Just because other owners sell their zed for a song doesnt mean this is not worth the money. What i have noticed in my time here is that owners put a fair price on their car and then when it doesnt sell the next day they drop the price daily until it sells. This then causes the sitiuation of where people are saying but so and so bought this for that so yours is only worth this. You have a very nice zed. Dont give it away. My two cents.
Mate i think the price is fair, and i think we all need to start looking at the way we price our cars, people get addicted to these cars and wanting nothing else, i know i did and we have a community with probably over 500 zeds, i dont think we realise how much we can influence the market for zed out there, i have seen prices in sydney slowly rising and the cheap zeds are slowly being drawn from the market and leaving higher priced ones. The cheapies arent coming back either, i say keep your price and who gives a shit if its high because thats what people should pay for a zed, everyone who said its too high you are only making it harder for yourselves lets put the price of these babys up
IMO Looks like a very tidy Zed and obviously a lot of money spent. But at the end of the day, with all due respect to the owner and fellow zedders' opinions, it is a 1990 2 seater manual TT. Just because there has been thousands spent, doesn't necessarily mean that it is worth the asking figure. There was a 2 seater TT manual here in Brisbane sold to a NSWelshman that zed4life did an inspection on and it was like NEW. Had SOME mods but not to the extent of this one, but nonetheless, the car was deadset like it came off the showroom floor.....$24K. And at the time, sounded a lot for a 2 seater but the customer was happy to pay because it was so close to new condition. I understand that trims and rubbers etc have been replaced on this car but the question needs to be asked, what was the condition of the car before, in order for all these things to be replaced. I'm with Andrew on this one, late teens, early 20's is its money but at the end of the day, its worth what someone will pay for it. Good luck with the sale.
IMO.. I think it's worth the money, I think a lot of shitty Zeds are pulling the prices down, and if they are shitty fair enuff, if it's a great car and in great condition it's good to be fetching good money, as for low on mods, I'd like to be able to drive a goos street car with reliability and comfort, massive HP isn't always the best for a street car, fair enuff if it's for the strip, or circuit racing, but then you can fit slicks and strip them out too.. I was asked what my car was worth the other day, I told the person I beleive it's worth at least 17,as it's mechanicaly A1, needs a few little things like the driver seat and rear wing, but in the market today as you can pick up a Zed for anything from 7 to 12k depending on NA or TT, so at the end of the day be realistic and it's worth what somebody will pay..
