Well I went down stairs and done some work on the zed tonight :)

I put the passenger side manifold on :) then picked up the dipstick holder. I then took the manifold back off, put the dipstick holder on. Had to manipulate the dipstick holder to fit the manifold back on.

I then went to place the turbo in place so I could work out the hoses and pipes. Only to have to manipulate the dipstick holder some more!

The turbo is now sitting in place :) now I just gotta work out where all the hoses go? There's to many! lol

Here's some photo's for fun :) slowly getting there :br:

Now Adam, if you want you can have it.

No work on the zed tonight, need to study all my random engine photos and work out where all these oil lines and stuff go lol..

Got my new det/knock sensor in the mail today. Only problem is it's a different plug.. Any one have any idea's?

I was thinking about just cutting the plug and putting the old one on if I can find it..

Well I have put all the turbo hoses and pipes etc on. The drivers side was a sh!t, had to put it on while it was attached to the manifold then we couldn't do one of the nuts up.. but we got there in the end.. The pass side we just put the manifold on, then the turbo.. Made it so much easier.

But all good things must come to an end. Just when you think your on a roll, you go 10 steps back.. Went to put my lower plenum on, only to find it doesn't fit becuase I have the timing gear all on already.. So I now I have to take the cam gear off, remove the timing backing plates and put my lower plenum on lol..

Will put some photos up tonight :)

All sorted.. Put the lower plenum on, it looks great..

All the turbo hoses and oil pipes are on. I have just the back hoses to place on, and then the front coolant pipes, and then I can put the timing belt back on :)

Also done some work on my plenum, will be putting that all back together tomara night..

But I'll just shut up and post some pics :p

Well my parts arrived from coz today, my 2 little wood ruff keys thingies :) timing belt is on, and every thing is lined up nicely. My house mate wound the motor round and mad sure nothing was hitting, and it was all good..

Put all my new coolant hoses on the turbos. Was talking to one of the boys at work, and said I never wanted another collant leak again.. So he gave me some of the strong stuff that they use on the helicopters :) and a heap of clamps.. Only problem is the hose is red :( but is there for a functional purpose.

Tomara night were bolting the gear box up hopefully :) and then Sat providing it's not raining the motor will be going back in :br:

Will get some photos tomara night :)

Are those turbos for a 300zx or just off the shelf jobbies.

The turbo outlet adaptors, the ones that bolt on with 3 bolts to the compressor housing are on the wrong angles for the stock pipes to go on. When you buy a turbo kit for these cars, the flanges have been cut off and rotated.

I suggest you bolt the plenum support brackets onto the heads and then fit the compressor outlet pipes, you will have to modify the bends on the pipes so they line up with your turbo's properly. Alot easier to do it now while it is out of the car.

Your driver side compressor housing needs to be rotated towards the manifold more aswell.

They are my old turbos. The discharge pipe work has been cut and shut so everything lines up which were provided in the sale. It was far easier to modify the steel pipes than the alloy ones.

Well the rain held off.. Caught up with some good mates.. And the motor is back in the car..

First we pushed the motor out side on the crane..

Then we pushed the zed out from under the house. It hadn't moved in ages and the hand brake was released but felt like it was sticking a bit. The look on the neighbors face when they walked out and saw the car, they hadn't seen it before and they looked shocked.

We gave it a quick wash, removed 6 months of dust and dirt off the car..

Then proceeded to push it back out into the street to put the motor back in. Every thing was going really well until the drivers side dump hit the steering mech and wouldn't budge. We all looked at the motor, tried to lift the motor, lift the car, lift the gear box.. Then I thought, why not just take the dump off? So we removed the drivers side dump and the rest of the motor slide in. We got the sump to clear the steering rack and it looked great.

Until some said, "where's the nuts for the engine mounts?" I'd forgotten to take them off before putting the motor in. So we lifted the motor up a tiny bit, got some fingers in there and took the bolts off. Placed the motor right down and placed the mount nuts on :)

I was laying under the car at this stage, cooking on the hot road.. trying to get my gear box mount bolts done up. I never drained the auto box fluid before hand so the road is covered in gear box oil again lol. And I was laying in it.

We dropped the zed back off the ramps and it looks great. We all sat in the shade for a bit sucking down some coke. Then we pushed the zed back under the house back to where we started by with a motor in the engine bay now.

We've packed up, gave the street a quick degrease :p but needs more yet. I've had 2 showers and still have oil in my hair. Feeling a little sick, but that might be the beers last night too :)

I have some really nice photos from Hannah (Adamness's partner) they have come up really good. I'm just gonna touch them up and post them later on :)

For now here's a high quality iphone photo :)

Thank you too every one that came around to help today, I couldn't have done it by my self :)
