Thought it was about time I collated what has been happening over the last little while:
In addition to a Forged/Balanced bottom end, Substantial head porting and 274'/9.3mm lift camshafts.

    Fuel:
1: Fitted Aeromotive 340lph Fuel Pump.
2: Fitted 800cc Subaru STi Top Feed Injectors feed buy custom Fuel Rails.

    Power making stuff:
Fitted Garret GT3071r Turbos with .64 Exhaust housings fitted with 90trim wheels... still in the process of finalising the pipe work and oil feed lines etc.

Nice build. Looking forward to seeing what sort of power you get from this set up.

Pump seems a little small for big power? Turbo kit looks good is it a Z1 item?

The Turbo's are just off the shelf Garrett's which I got @ cost so the rest is custom made by your's truly expect for the Z1 2.5in boost pipe kit.

I plan on going to 23psi max. so there should be enough fuel... had intended on using smaller Turbos but was able to get these cheap so thought would give it go.

    build looks good .

Garrett use the cropped 84 trim wheels in .64 housings and the full 90 trim in the .86 housings ,be interesting to see how it works .

Do 3071 fit okay. Admitting no real knowledge here on it but I did read as post a while ago that 3071 fouled on a few things? Or was it dumps fitted to them? :/

There is bit of work to make them fit...

So far I have had to "adjust" both Engine Mount Brackets to clear the 2.75" intake Piping and the Driver side Wastegate Actuator ( If you get the BDE low profile mounts the is no issue ), the Dipstick Tube fouled the Compressor cover, passenger side Turbo needed to be spaced 6mm from the Manifold for Compressor Cover to Manifold clearance.

There are 3071 specific Downpipes available but the cost was too high to justify so out came the Die Grinder...

Overall not too bad, time consuming.

    Cheers...

Re the trim... that's what I thought but measuring the Exhaust wheel showed the expected 56.5mm inducer size but the exducer came out at 52mm.

    Update... small one anyway.

    LH Turbo intake 2.75" pipe

    RH Turbo intake pipe

    Drivers side Turbo clearance...

Getting there slowly, engine fits and didn't have to jump up and down on it to get to go in:D

That is the clearance issues I was suggesting ..
    Wow thank for pictures

You are welcome... there would be more clearance if you used the GT2871r 56trim compressor cover.
The Turbos potential would be compromised but if you were not looking to be running high boost levels (30+psi), not too much.

Test drive taken, run nice ... steady idle @ 950rpm

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QOJzxGOLeD0&feature=youtu.be

As for performance, can't really tell until it's tuned, BUT it feels much quicker than before... revs and makes boost quicker as well... even on part throttle only.:D

Am looking forward to getting the odds and ends tidied away and having it tuned, my guess is I will need a spare pair of undies in the car at all times;)

Good work man. . Cant wait to see this thing on the dyno . . Please take vids of it.

    More goodies to fit :D

1: 4 Bar MAP Sensor... my existing one won't let me go higher than 21psi

2: 3 Port Boost Control Solenoid... The G4 Link ECU uses this to set Boost limits.

3: Crank Trigger Wheel and Sensor... This will replace the factory CAS unit, fitting more powerful valve springs can/does setup harmonics with the CAM Belt causing it to develop a "whip" which in turn has the CAM's turning at varying degrees to the Crank Shaft as evidenced by observing the timing moving all over the place which makes it necessary to run the timing more retarded than is ideal to make good power.
A Crank Trigger Wheel setup like this ensures rock steading timing all the time which means I can run more timing adv. safely = more POWA

Whipping on the timing belt? Interesting

  19. BLACK BEAST

    BLACK BEAST SLICKTOP TT R-SPEC

So that's the cropped 84 trim wheel which is 51.8mm

the cropped 90 trim is 53.6mm
