i'm wondering if anyone has run into a issue with Ferrea valves with the dual springs and titanium retainers, the set i had installed end up having the retainers sitting higher than the tip of the valve so the lifter is hitting. the retainer first in turn loosening the keepers. you can see in the photo of the top of the head that the lifter has dented the retainers, and the other photos are measurements of the new retainer hand installed with new valve and new keepers, this is the closest to being atleast flush on top. The worst one besides the one that dropped is 0.0670 inch/1.7018mm.
Hi, Looking at the images, it would seem that the keepers are not compatible with the valve spring retainer as the stem should stick out the retainer. Have you compared the OEM valves with the new Ferrea valves..... measured valve lift / spring bind?
Unfortunately I tossed my old valves, figured id never need them again sigh. I have not checked those numbers, I have reached out to Ferrea they requested to see all the parts and had asked me what the clearance should be from tip of valve to top of the retainer which i cant seem to find anywhere in the manual or online. I had bought a whole kit from czp valves, springs, retainers, keepers, seat locators.
