provided we can keep the kit price to 900 each then the original is by far a better option. i dare say its goin to take a while to get it here though... i for one dont mind putting in the deposit, we were all goin to have to put a deposit in at some point anyway
DID ANYONE READ MY LAST POST UAS in NSW sells the Urethane kit for $2560!! It's cheaper and is supporting a local business :zlove:
I would double check their price...with the drop in the aussie dollar,I wouldnt be surprised to see that jump up again...
obviously not Renee ,i guess they wont read this wings west kit for $2350 either http://www.ttzed.com/products/produ...g=1&page=1&title=Bodykits - Wingswest&do=list
haha, Simon, they dont offer it for that price anymore They took it down from the website links roughly two years ago...it still coems up when you search for wings west, but yeah, No such price Believe me, I would have paid that! ahaha
it doesnt say no longer available but ttzed , anythings possible i guess youre getting something nicer than that anyway Andrew
cpoying the origional kit will always be the best option!!! if its goin to cost almost the same...i'd be happier knowing we are getting as close to the origional as possible....which also makes me question where the urethane kits are coming from the if the origional from wings west kit is fibreglass????? either way it will not affect the group buy final price...it may only affect the deposits we will need to make....stil more updates to come, including pics of the spec2000 front bar fittings from JSAI.
Well I dont care if I have to put a bigger deposit on the kit.. BUT..if it falls through I would expect a FULL refund, if customs or taxes cost extra for some reason, I would not expect to pay more..and before I pay for the deposit, I would like to know the FINAL costs of the WW Kit to be made..with no alterations after payment is made
GO RENEE a woman is scorned ,get her kit happening or there will be hell to pay guys :bash: :bash: :bash:
renee, this is just speculations at the moment... no one is asking you to make a deposit yet.... obviously if something was to happen every1 would get there money back... but, that will not be the case... if it does go ahead it will be 100% that ever1 gets wot they ordered. hopefully deposits wont have to be too big... and if you read earlier posts... no matter wat extra costs there may be in the importing of the origional kit, the GB price will stay at $900... will keep you updated... cheers
Yeah, I know will.i.am Im just clarifying what will be expected if I do make the deposit..not having a go or anything.. hahaha..that had me laughing..
heh, mm well think i might have jumped ahead a bit up there.. got all excited at the thought of progress haha i agree tho, if we gunna do this we better do it properly and make the copies from the original. the kits that UAS are selling are copies... so i think at this stage our only option on a genuine kit is to import one from the states, unless some1 knows where one is in aus? (haha.. riiight) im back tonight so ill get stuff sorted over me next week off cheers all, Jadyn
I just rang Unique Autosports in Sydney who sell the genuine urethane wings west kits. They are $2,560 for a full bodykit and then $150 delivered to most capital cities or $180 delivered to Perth or Darwin, but they get them out from America (sigh) and the wait is 6-8 weeks.......not sure if this helps you guys any?!?!??!
as i posted earlier.... wings west DO NOT make a full urethane kit... i have called them in the US and they have said that the front bar is urethane but the sides and rear are fibreglass...
Their website is weird. http://www.wingswest.com/products.asp?ref=home The 2+2 kit states urethane frnt and fiber rear and sides but the 2 seater only states urethane frnt but doesn't even state what the front and sides are. It is also the same at http://www.bodykits.com/_search.php?page=1&q=wings+west+300zx It will be better than a normal kit that is made from a copy of a copy anyway.
I have also called Wings West directly in America and they DO make a full poly urethane bodykit and I have just spoke to them again to clear this confusion up, and I believe you have been asking questions regarding a 2 + 2 seater, in which case as you state only the front bumper is urethane and the rest is fibreglass, but I was enquiring about a 2 seater, in which case all of the bodykit is urethane - I don't know why they do it that way, but that is where our confusion of each other's replies have come from....

progress!!! heya all, we've made a big jump in the last couple of days... as it is at this stage there will be a genuine 2seater kit coming in from US in the very near future, and we will be making the copies from that. to cover the cost of getting the kit here we are, at this stage, looking at a deposit of around $200 each, though this will of course be deducted from the final cost of your item. meaning people with sideskirts only will have $50 left to pay! (plus shipping ) Full kit $900 Front $400 Sides $250 Rear Bar $350 sides for the 2+2 will be available, and ill update soon about a rear bar for the 2+2 work off this for now and ill post up definite prices as soon as i can, note that the full kit wont exceed $900. i'll be able to let you guys know within the next few days if this is for real, however please be prepared for it to go ahead relatively soon. we are going to need numbers though, so if we have a lot of people drop out we could be in a lot of danger... obviously group shipping to WA is going to be viable and work out a lot cheaper than individual packages, and seeing as i have a spare room im willing to act as depot if necessary for those of you on the east coast shipping shouldnt be much more than 200 at most, though if you are in sydney where the kits are being produced then you might want to organize something yourself. this is the website of the manufacturer if any of you havnt already been there http://www.jsai.com.au/shop/index.php ill update again soon, Cheers, Jadyn :zlove:
Well I guess we should start a NEW one of these lists again, as of the 25/8/07 1) Renee, RENZED, Bendigo/VIC, Entire kit, Definite, Got money for deposit now
