Looking great Geoff... Shame you won't see much of the fuel rail once the plenum is on. Nice to see some clean throttle springs too :zlove:
looking good mate. your missing a cas but i'll fix that up really soon i would have put all the fittings on the end of the fuel rails before they were bolted down though.
It's in! Got my engine back in today, very happy I also bolted dumps to the turbos before it went in. I had to remove the steering shaft from the rack (2 bolts) so the D/S dump could slide past and it pretty much went straight in and onto the mounts The drivers side dump fowls on the clutch slave line bracket, but one shave with the grinder and it clears
WOw nice work mate nice looking engine too. I hope she runs sweet how much power are you expecting to make ?
thread dig time! Searching through a few rebuild threads and just wondering how yours is coming along beaver and if you've had it dynoed yet?
Beaver must be busy doing other things, like building dams... I'm interested in knowing the progress too, has been a while now Geoff :zlove:
Yep i have been busy! Thanks for asking guys. The car is not running because I've been slack!:bash: I was supposed to have it ready for a tune last week, but as it stands now, that looks more likely to happen early new year. As you can see the exhaust and ecu are in my house, got to get my lazy arse into the sheed. Dam forgot to resize.
beaver ... you slacko ...!!!! ..we are all waithing to see one of my favourite engines bays back in business ... .. one Q .. THE GLOSSY, BLACK x 2, radiator hoses (??) .. what did you paint them with ...??? .. i did a spare set of NA air intake hoses in "chrome" but am not happy with them .. now want to go for a 2 pak black, something akin to those most glossy rad hoses of yours ...
There not radiator hoses Baz, their intake hoses, and there silicone mate, and yes I'm slack, 10-hour workdays will do that. On the paint issue, I painted my stock intake pipes years ago, it cracked and flaked in less than a week. You can buy a rubber dye in black, it doesn?t crack or fade, but its not shiny like silicone.
Pull your finger out Geoff All the hard work is done now. I'm almost tempted to jump on the boat and finish it off for you :zlove:
im going to bookmark this, sort of what im chasing for a build once i get my car. whats the current cost of parts so far?
Current cost is more than I'm willing to state for fear of being locked up! ball park figure 15/20k, engine and support.
Spoken like a man with a project zed to feed! This is one of my favourite projects on the forum, perfect blend of class and performance. Can't wait to see how it turns out.
