Hi All, Well after viewing everyones Z-builds I though it be time for me to do one also. I had to as i was having a bit of smoke under boost. I am thinking the Turbo seals. But really, who knows until I get the engine out and start inspecting it. To date I have pulled the engine out and started detailing the engine bay and am going to start dismantling the engine this weekend. Gaskets arrived from Coz, but am thinking I need new hoses, pullution gear deletion kit and a 100,000 ks timing belt kit. The engine has only done !01,000 ks so I am hopeful that the internals are all good. Here are some pics of my progress to date. PS. Thanks Brad (DUB) for the use of the engine hoist!!!!!!!! and all the advice and help! I got there in the end!!! Engine ready to come out!!! Engine out, The bay is now ready to have a major clean up done. Engine on stand and ready to be stripped down and rebuilt.
Most of the hard work done now Terry. Engine is much more accessible on a stand and you can really get into the engine bay for degreasing a lot easier now. Well done!
Thanks Yes, i have done half of the engine bay already. I will t-cut it all, check over all wiring, heat wrap, touch up paint, etc It really is so much easier, but amazing how dirty the car has got over the years.
