Electrical problem: head, tail & dash lights flickering

All, have noticed a bit of a problem. At first I thought it was my eyesight, but ECUtalk has confirmed that something strange is going on.

When driving, for periods all my lights flicker. It happens for 1-2 minutes at a time, every 5 minutes or so during a 5 hour drive yesterday, but I recall it happening for a few weeks.

    I've checked resting voltage: 12.32v
    I've checked idle voltage: 14.08-14.26v

The only think i've noticed is that when the flickering occurs, the voltage range of fluctuation changes from 14.08-14.26v to 14.08 to low 15v. Then it just goes back to the 'normal' range of voltage fluctuation.

It doesn't even actually seem to matter if the lights are on or not, the voltage fluctuation happens intermittently.

Has anyone else experienced this type of issue or care to throw up some suggestions?

p.s. my alternator was rebuilt just over 2 years ago, but I'm assuming this is a prime suspect at this stage.

    Col....

Not knowing for sure, but 15 volts seems far to high for the electrical system..... I suspect maybe a dying voltage regulator which is playing havoc with your electrical system..... These volts readings, are they from a volt meter or from ecu talk??

All the readings are from ECUTalk. The "normal" readings are the same as when the voltage reg on the alternator was changed over last time. But the more than 1v fluctuation instead of 0.25v is the new thing.
