After more battery dramas, the mechanic has finally figured that even with everything turned off I'm getting something drawing current...... any thoughts on what this could be - and no not alarm.......cheers

    possibilities

Rear-Demister, Elect Windows, Seats. I had this problem before on a commodore and the autoelectrician I took it to was able to hook up a device to measure current draw. As far as I know he then tracked my problem down to an electric window switch by removing each fusible link & fuse one by one and checking to see if the current draw changed as a result. best of luck.

    Check door light

I had same problem and notice that if the door was open and the light was on, or the door was open and the light was turned off, I still had the current draw.My problem ended up being a relay for the alarm that the knuckle head that fitted it got around the wrong way.

    Could be..>>

your fuel pump. I have often heard a slight humming sound from the fuel pump area well after I have removed the key. I guess you could remove the fuel pump fuseable link to eliminate this as the source of your current drain (perhaps a faulty FPCU keeping fuel pump going for too long). Just a thought.Cheers

    IB ?????

Pull the fuses one by one ...>>

when the drain stops, you know where to start looking.

    red32 You talkin' to me?

    Stating the obvious, maybe,

but has your mechanic checked that the battery will actually hold a charge (does it go flat while it is disconnected?) and that your alternator actually charges properly. If these both function correctly, then having Sherlock Holmes as your mechanic becomes an attractive proposition.Best of luck,
    Doug.
