engine damper bracket, I've had a few inquires about the availability of the brackets, I can have more made, but 10 is the minimum and there $40 each. If there is enough interest I'll get it done.

These are good value and an easy DIY install. Perfect fit and thicker/stronger than the LHD brackets that Stillen supply.

    If it's $40 I'll grab one, don't think it'll do much though

It's for the bracket that then allows you to install the stillen engine damper. The stillen unit comes with a lhd bracket so you need to source a rhd one to fit it.

what a fantastic way to make your cabin vibrate while you're stuck in traffic

    before /thread.

Will this still fit, even if i have ezzupturbos, gas strut (mount there) , cruise control mount & this LOL.

Don't put it down until you have tried it... I'm running one and it hasn't increased vibration at all. It is primarily there to prevent the engine from twisting to the drivers side under load.

You'll probably need some longer bolts but I reckon it would fit. Depends how thick the cruise and strut brackets are. I am using it in conjunction with Chili brace and it fits fine -the Chili brace must be a good 5mm thick (or more?).

But seriously, you'd need to making significant numbers for this to be of any use, correct? And even then there's a tonne of cars out there making the required performance that don't have this installed.

Is it more gimmick than necessity? I'd like to see more opinions.

Absolutely - think of it like a 3 piece front strut brace. there to look like you know about cars.

I thought that's what you guys used the Internet for?

While we are pretending to know about cars the simple fact of the matter is that the engine twists toward the drivers side under load, "wasting" energy and loading up engine mounts. The Stillen product addresses this without noticably compromising ride comfort.

Like many aftermarket mods no you don't "need" it; the car has run just fine for the past 23 years without. Some however may feel this is an acceptable solution to reducing engine twisting, particularly in big HP applications -I would sooner fit a Stillen brace and factory engine mounts than aftermarket urethane mounts which fail prematurely or solid type mounts which will almost certainly transmit noise and vibration. The part is functional and effective. "Need" is a very subjective term -I don't see the "need" to lower my car to the point that my exhaust is destroyed and my suspebsion arms foul on the car, or the need to bury (and reduce access to) critical engine components, but to each his own yes? Stillen have been racing and tuning Nissans before you or I had heard of a Z32 so I would be very hesitant to label any of their products gimmicks.

Oh and regarding strut braces; what specifically do you think is wrong with the three piece design? Ate you suggesting an 8mm nut will flex? The slot car used a three piece brace (one of these http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=251339) for many years (and possibly still does?) and it clearly didn't hinder performance. I too prefer the look and fit of the carbing product (including UAS and Powertrix knock off versions) however I wouldn't be so quick to trash different designs and I'll bet $100 that the slot car wouldn't be consistently faster around Wakefield with a carbing style compared to the one I linked to above.

"wasting" energy and loading up engine mounts"

Hence why the drivers side engine mount is usually always rooted and the passenger side is fine...maybe...

The guys are right about bracing. They do a specific job and do it well.
If you want road hugging cornering then strut mount bracing reduces the body roll and twist.
If you want torque for launch (and assist engine mount life) then an engine mount brace is the way to go.
But for normal driving (observing the speed limit) the bracing is not needed.

If you "dump" the clutch then this is a good idea.

    More for the non believers

Check this out -this is my car when it was running standard engine mounts and no stillen brace. Watch around 10 seconds as they release the throttle the motor drops back towards passenger side -so twisting to the left and compressing drivers side mount under revs and then releasing when the throttle comes off.

Obviously running more torque etc than standard but movement is there. I'm not about to suggest you'll pickup massive HP by adding the brace however any movement left/right is wasted energy and at the very least accelerating engine mount wear.

At $140 the price is significantly less than a set of upgraded engine mounts ($235 for UAS) or a possible soloution for those wanting a simple solution to reducing movement without dropping the cross member to remove mounts.

    Certainly not a "gimmick".

Tell you what Martin I was too generous before when I said Stillen had been tuning Nissans since before we knew what a Z32 was. Steve Millen founded Stillen in 1986, so years before you were born or I knew what a car was let alonge a Z32. I doubt either of us will have an anniversary model production car named after us though...

I can't see the engine move at all in that video, but I'll believe you anyway.

This product might have its slight benefits on your car, along with Rob C's and... that's about it probably.

Not needed with the BDE engine mounts.

My engine does NOT MOVE under load.
