im interested, but ill be honest, i dont really inderstand how it plugs in. does this plug in to the regular code checking thingamajig in the drivers footwell? if so, wouldnt the cables be a bit of a pain being constantly plugged in.....?
Yes it plugs into the consult port drivers footwell. No the wires arnt really annoying, just tuck them up behind the trim, no more annoying that any other interior additive you could install if you do it right
I'm keen as well but want to clarify a couple of things; 1) where is good place to mount the unit without to much mucking around And 2) If I read correctly 145mm of cable is only 14.5cm isn't that a bit short (did you mean 145cm)? Is there any way to make this longer for ease of mounting somewhere in view??
Hey With out much mucking around when mounting, im going to bolt mine to the cluster cover simple and easy to see. Others have used double sided tape and placed it in a similar spot. Ill hunt down some photos and put them up. and yes 145cm
Thanks, just one more question, I read something about refresh rates of the screen display on the ecutalk site, is it a live feed of car sensors I.e. If I'm doing say 73kmh at 2750rpm will the main display show that instantaneously or is there a lag between what's shown in the screen and what's actually happening with the car?
Its a direct connection. The amount of data being transferred would be so miniscule that it wouldn't really make a noticeable difference
