Hey All, One of my early style injectors has come up with 0 Ohms. Does this mean a replacement or can it/they be serviced? If replacement is required. Is there a place in Australia to purchase S2 injectors and adapter kit?
zero ohms means open circuit on that injector, bin time. afaik no one in aus has the adaptor your after, The easy fix is to replace just the one injector, owners here may have what your after.
I haven't come across an open circuit fuel injector before - usually the fail with internal resistance that exceeds specifications. I'm sure it can happen but I'd double check before condemming it. The most economical fix would be to service the set and replace any that don't meet spec. I've just done this for a member; cost for servicing was $190/set including o rings and pintle caps. I also have OEM replacements in stock if needed. Shoot me a PM if you'd be interested in discussing
0 ohms is a short circuit, not an open circuit. How did you measure it, what did you measure it with?
Hi Mick, I measured between the 2 pins of the injector with a multimeter. I ended up pulling the plenum and fuel rail. The injectors are in Terrible condition (Visually).
The car was idling rough. I found an issue with the cylinder by pulling the coil connector off and nothing changed. I checked Spark and had no issues there (Spark plug out on an earth and saw the spark). I tested all of the injectors as per my method above and this is the only one with 0 Ohms. When I pulled the rails out, I'm surprised it was running lol. But this is my first Z so no real idea of the condition. Only one injector had a semi intact injector pintlecap, they are all cracked/broken and one has a loose/broken connector point.
