Some for sale on 'vividracing' website, $430 for the wing, and then add at least that again on top to get it here.. Model number : AE020-04 http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/veilside-rear-wing-spoiler-nissan-300zx-9096-p-13989.html
I like the idea. The mold itself will be relatively simple and in such It wont be much more final price than the stock wing. I would say between $250 - $300. If you want to go down that path Im open to it.
Yes there are thoughts. I need a few months to get myself set up for CF work. Need to get Aza's car finished and the roof spoiler finished and then Ill be looking at these.
Ztoy! Would the 2+2 version be adaptable to the 2+0 rear hatch? I know that the spoiler part should fit both, but I'm thinking the little part that extends a few inches up the glass might not fit 100% due to difference in the curvature of the glass? I'm just thinking out loud here, of course. Is that vividracing joint a serious place, or would they just be vendoring dodgy copies?
Yeah you know I wouldn't be surprised if there's a different version for a 2+0, or if it's only for the 2+2. Never seen them on a 2 seater now that you mention it.
Deadly serious mate![TIS] Yeah, they are pretty good, my uncle has been using them for a few years sourcing parts for his mustang, and body wise, every bit of gear ive seen has gone straight on to oem mounting points like they were always there, not bad for a 40 year old car. The quality is pretty decent, better than some of the knockoff VS bits weve all seen, and if all your using it for is to make a plug and mold to reproduce them yourself (Ztoy), does the original one matter that much? I assume that one could be made the same way the other spoilers are, and then just rivetted/sikaflexed onto the hatch.
Excellent! That's what I like to hear Good find there, nemo. Might be a viable option for this latest endeavor
An original one would be better but provided the copy is good it should be a problem. Ill have to prep the copy as if it was going on a car to get rid of molding inperfections. Fittment should be the same as the stock replicas.
the jun front bumper availabe on that site is also sex on wheels......very nice and subtly different to other styles.....very understated
My thoughts are liking what your serving up. Unfortunately Im set up for the composite fabrication in my shop and while Im handy with a welder and a milling lathe, neither of these things I have. So Im not your man for this one. On a side note, have you convinced Pexzed to lend me his wing yet?
Thought you weren't too keen... I'll ask him Best bet'd be me finding one elsewhere and posting it off to you before I put it on. when I find one.. Is there another resident fabricator here? edit: while we're on the topic of good ideas; I give you the escort bonnet! the only good looking aftermarket bonnet for the Zed... ever! pretty please
When you're set up for carbon, reckon you'll be able to knock these up for less than $230 a pair posted (current CZP price)? I'm not the only one interested in them... (just holler at me whenever you want me to stop posting concepts) -A
Not interested in those they look horrible but how about these puppies. I call them the "Mighty Ducts" Ill be doing these in black fiberglass with a Estimated price of $120 I have no issues with your ideas, however Ill be getting a mod to move alot of the posts from this thread into the EOI thread that exists. If you could put all you fabulous ideas into that it would be appreciated. This one was meant for the sale of the wings and spoiler and had derailed. Ill link back to it when it is done. Al
Look what the FedEx man delivered today. Stillen Lip This is the next mold Ill be producing now that the roof wing is completed. Ill need to fit it to a tt bar to make a mold as the NA one that is in the pic is broken and the lip doesnt sit right. Anyone want to donate a TT bar
What kind of detrimental damage will come to the TT bar? have an almost new TT front bar that I wont have time to fit to my Z for a while, which you can borrow to get proper fitment for your mould from. If only going to affect lip mounting points, was seriously considering fitting the stillen lip anyways Michael
