Dubbo Easter 2004 - Expressions of Interest?

Yesterday there was talk at the QLD tech day of having a multi-state get together in Dubbo during the next easter break. Dubbo seems to be the most central place to get people from QLD, NSW, VIC, ACT etc so who would be interested in a trek to Dubbo next Easter ?

I would like to go though I am in the process of building a house so I will have no idea of what my situation will be like this time next year.Isn't the Z nationals on at easter every year anyhow???Cheers,Danny

Z Nationals is every 2 years so will not be

on next year. In 2005 it'll be in Sydney. I thought it would be best to start organising something now as things involving multiple states are hard to organise. Does anyone know if there is a track or dragstrip in/near Dubbo?

I would really love to come to a zed meet in Dubbo but Easter is devoted to another fanatical past time!

A great idea to get every body together, dont know about a dragstrip or track though ,there used to be a dirt track speedway for bikes i used to race on a long time ago, not much good for Zeds though.
contact the tourist bureau they would be able to help with whats there and whats on.

 

I used to race dirt circuit cars there in

about 75/76. Class I ran was for under 1.5litres rear wheel drive so ran a gutted hillman imp with one center seat etc. Good fun though. Course was a track type course and not an oval. If that course is still there maybe OK for an Xtrail but not a ZX.

 

sweet, thats only 1 day drive to get there

i was expecting it to be a over-night drive where ild have to sleep somewere and continue in the morning, 800km ild say wont take more than 8 hours doing 110km/h most the way with a few stops. Leave early morning, get there in the arvo!That would be a wicked cruise to go on with a fair few Z's going together!

Get Together... Just got back from Dubbo two days ago - the Zoo is awesome...   Don't think the Zoo staff would go for a massive Zed cruise around the Western Plains Zoo though...LOL... Can just see it now: Massive exhausts triggering a stampede in the African savannah section...!!!!I know an excellent route there for Sydney Zedders... Perhaps some of us could go on a nice cruise there...Long way off Chewy, but I think it is a great idea and gives people plenty of time to plan...=)
