Update !

Ok, this cruise is just over a week away so nows the time for an update.

Lets make the meet time at the Watsonia Train station between 9:00 - 9:30 am, with a strict departure time of 10 am.

I am a time Nazi when it comes to departure time, so the departure time will be strictly 10am. If you're late, you'll have to catch up.

The route hasn't changed. I didn't get a chance to drive the route beforehand, but I'm not expecting any problems with the roads selected. If we have to, we can just wing it on the day.

At this stage, lunch will be in Yea. I haven't booked a specific place, but there are some nice Bakeries in Yea along the main strip, so there'll be plenty of options for food to choose from. On the last legs of the cruise, I've added an optional stop at the Flying Tarts Bakery (between Kinglake West and Kinglake). Depending on time and whether people want a snack, we may or may not stop here. We'll be driving past it regardless.

I'll be handing out cruise maps on the day, but everyone these days has a smart phone or sat nav in their car so please pre program the route and have it handy on the day so no one gets lost and anyone can lead the convoy. This will allow the more spirited drivers to go upfront and lead and the nanny drivers like me can hang back.

Cant wait for this Mark, really appreciate you organising this for everyone, I know Dougie would be thrilled and proud of all of us on the day for attending this cruise in his honor.

 

+1 to this, Pre washed the zed today getting a bit excited. Will need to spend a good whole day to get the interior to match the outside

 

pretty keen on attending too, it'll be my first attendance for a cruise, just got to hope the zed is ready in time (unlikely haha)

 

Me too! Zed is such a garage queen these days. Washed and sitting in the garage under a cover waiting for next weekend

Meeting location info !

The Watsonia railway station car park is quite big and on a Sunday morning should be fairly empty. You will enter the car park off the Greensborough Hwy (Red dot). Once there, make your way to the very most rear of the car park, highlighted by the blue line in the pic below. This is where you'll find me and any other Zeds that may have arrived before you.

Remember, meet up between 9:00 - 9:30am, with departure time of 10am. Make sure your fuelled up before hand as we won't be stopping for fuel along the way.

Update 2 !!

It was pointed out to me that I didn't actually specify in which direction we would be travelling. So best I do it. Looking at the map, we will be going anti clockwise (which is the direction of the current map instructions). So, from Watsonia Train station > Kangaroo Ground > Yarra Glen > Yea > Kinglake West > Kinglake > back to Watsonia train station.

he was an amazing bloke who helped me without thought on my plenum pull all for free at my tech day 4 years and a bit ago.
im so sad to hear he has passed and I'll be there on the day!

Doesn't matter what car you have..... There may be some old timers there who dont have Zeds anymore, or Zeds broken, or Zed is now a dedicated track car. Either way, they'll be in another car

 

rod u coming in the s2k? i'd bring the mx5 to keep up appearances for the hairdressers team but about time my zed saw some daylight.
