 When I reverse, the car makes a scrape, scrape noise ... sounds like a worn brake pad scraping on a warped disk (but it's not in the wheels). When I drive forward, no scraping, and it happens every time. Seems to be coming from under the vehicle. Has anyone had this experience and found out what it was before it fell off?
scraping i had a same situation driving me nuts was a stone in the braking system which i removed the caliper and a stone fell out. i was suprised it must of got flicked up and made way in the caliper.[/IMG]
I'd swear it's not in the wheels and brakes But I'll have a closer look, and why does the noise go away when I go forward? I wonder if it's the centre bearing ... but then why would it scrape one way, and be silent the other:wacko:
Check all the plastic covers under your engine bay out sometimes they break and hang down you dont hear them as you drive forward cause wind lifts them up but when you reverse you can hear it. Give it a closer look.
