I know, it's actually almost the same colour as the car - very smooth & clean welds all around as well. The guy (Hakan) really takes pride in his work & it shows.
Honestly?.... not a whole lot quieter than with the cannons & still the same tone / pitch as well - must be due to the 3" piping. Drone has reduced somewhat though. When I get the chance after getting it tuned, I will add 2 round 5" resonators right on where the new painted & old pipe meet at the flange - will be using 12"/ 30cm Lukeys.
I, like many others love your rims. If you don't mind me asking, what are they and approx how much did they set you back? Cheers, Jamie
They are called G-max Energy wheels - you can get a staggered set just like mine for around $2,200 brand new. They were already on the car when I bought it. Front passenger one is totally stuffed though & buckled on one section & the others have reasonable gutter rash. Thing is, with these rims, you can't repair them because they've got a thin aliminium lip/ dish. I'm planning on getting a set of Lenso Widetracks, look very similar & a little more dish: Or ultimately, if I can find a good 2nd hand set that doesn't cost a million $:
Also fixed the backseat carpet which was coming off - very common these days, with the age of these cars. Bit of liquid nails & voila! Before & after:
Finally got around to getting it tuned. I safely & easily got the 500hp / 375kw at the wheels I was after: 326RWKW @ 16psi on low boost: Spark plugs taken out before the tune : I still haven't ahd a chance to give it a good squirt - maybe this afternoon when the roads dry up
Looks great mate! gotta love the gun grey zeds huh! its good to see a good example of that front bar on a grey Z too, i have always considered that bar. either that or the bomex. good luck on the turbo upgrade.
I picked my car up from MRC yesterday after having Vi-Pec installed and had a quick chat to Mark about this one. Sav if you're reading mate why not just throw the run in oil in and swap the injectors over? I reckon you could pick up a set of standard injectors and rail for next to nothing, and there are plenty of us that would be happy to help with the labour. Give those oil rings a chance to bed in, you've got nothing to lose!
Thanks Rob, I'm doing the oil today. About going back to the stock injectors; is it just a matter of putting them back in? what about the current tune & boost settings? will it need to be re-tuned after putting the stockies back in & then re-retuned when the engines fully run in & the 750's put back in? What if I just changed the 750's for the NISMO 555's or JECS 615's now instead of the stockies or having 750's which are overkill & seem to be causing the overfueling smokingissues? Cheers
If you change injectors, you will need to adjust the tune accordingly. Change one thing at a time, do the oil and give it a few weeks. If still no improvement, then starting looking else where (injectors etc...).
You would need it tuned, not sure if you'd drive it to the workshop though? Mark would be the one to talk to. Remember it's not that you're getting "too much fuel", but that your rings haven't had a chance to seal before the cylinders have been drenched in fuel. You'd need to run much much lower boost with the 370s, but it would only be a temporary thing.
It's not that the injectors are the problem but that it appears that the engine hasn't been run in properly. Changing the injectors is about mitigating the current issues, but only temporarily.
