I very long time ago I bought a Conzult when it was first released. I haven't needed to use it for quite a while and in the interim I've upgraded my laptop (several times) to one without a serial port. Anyway, the time has come to use it again and I've been looking for a USB - serial adapter. I found one that seemed to work but the Conzult would work for about 3 -5 seconds then lock up. I tried ZTalk and Datascan with exactly the same results.
I managed for get one of my old laptops with the serial port and the ConZult and Datascan are doing the same thing on this one as well. Has anyone had this problem or any suggestions? I'm starting to suspect it's my ConZult cable.

I'm on the sunny coast (central) and happy to let you use my usb cable to see if the problem.

I work from home so any time it suits if you want to take a run up .. you may find an offer closer to home though?

I have an offer that's a little closer to home but I'll see how I go. I am really hoping to sort out why mine isn't working though. Thanks anyway.

    Benny_C About as subtle as...

Pretty common problem when using the serial > usb adaptors for our conzult connectivity Garry.
They are more intermittent than consistant when talking to the ecu. Unfortunately my advice would be to buy an actual usb cable for guaranteed results. :(

Not all USB adapters are compatible.

If setup is wrong, ie: incorrect gauges selected, programs may lock up.

Yeh. Thinking I'll just cut my losses and get a USB cable. I think I paid about $650 for it when it first came out so I was hoping to resurrect it.
    Thanks.
