I bought a USB Consult cable here approximately 5...6...7... years ago on this forum. From memory it came with a driver CD with various programs. I got it out again today to have a tinker, but I have changed laptops since and can't find the original included driver CD. I've just spent the last 2-3 hours trying various downloads to get past even the first step of getting the laptop to recognise the cable, before I can go any further and start looking at things through ECUTalk or similar. So, does anyone know where I can download the driver software from? (I wish I could be more specific with exactly who I got the cable from and so on, but I can't remember and I can't find any record of it).
Thankyou. All sorted Just after posting for help I figured it out. It was the PL2303 (??? or very similar) driver I needed to download and install for the cable to be recognised. Cable now working. Will post my next question in another thread
http://www.ecutalk.com/install/ newest cables from website come with a link to this, rather than CD (given newer netbook/ultrabook dont have dvd drive), contains all contents of CD (although theyre also generally on the website too).
