I dont mean to hijack this thread or anything but I have owned 3 Zs and none of them have had a green plate, my first one i got from qld with no rego ever in nsw and it had a mod plate and i had this same thing happen to me, so i thought it was going to be too much of a stuff around so i bought my second one and that had a yellow plate that said something about import something something on it, but I found out in a rough sort of way that that car didnt have intrusion bars, had original seatbelts, no child seat anchor points and still had the flare, so im not too sure whether that was ever complianced and im also not too sure whether that car was first regoed in nsw or what the history of it was but the guy that i bought it off had it for 3 years without any trouble with rego, and now the current Z doesnt have a green plate or a mod plate that I can find, and from what Im told its been regoed in vic, qld and now nsw.

That's cheap what do you get for that? For the money is consider getting mine done just for peace of mind.

Is that a blue as well?

And better reconnect your carbon canister man they won't pass it if it ain't safe...

Approval of the things they can (FMIC, coilovers, etc) and ignoring the things they can't. Blue slip is $130 on top

And hey, what they don't know can't hurt me.

green slip is for cars imported under the old compliance scheme.

hey anti give me a call asap before you get engineers cert as i can most likely help as i went through this 2 months ago and got mine through the rta the proper way without needing a new cert i have pm you my mob number i still have all the info docs etc you need to get it through

I tried, couldn't find anything on them online? i'm pretty sure I got on to them eventually (though they weren't called DOTARS) and they told me they don't have any information on the compliance, just a history on the car in terms of when it was imported and where it landed in Queensland. Once it hit the Aussie shores they don't keep track.

Mine was reg in Vic . It was sold at an auction here in NSW and was registered . It has NO compliance plate or green plate . The guy I bought it off said he was all worried about it too but apparently the vin number is all the RTA was interested in . Things may have changed but this was 2 years ago .
It had no mods and was stock , still is for that matter . I will be getting rego in a couple of months so will be interesting if I have any issues . Anyway at worst I have a GUY that does my pink slips but he has moved (not far luckily )and he always comes thru for me ;)

When I bought mine (QLD 2011) i had to get a safety done myself, the Mechanic rang the RTA as the car didnt have a compliance plate, went through the VIN etc and all good - took him a few hours to sort it though.

I got to this stage before I gave up and bought a new Z, So looking forward to see how much further I needed to go to get mine back on the road.

    Hell yeah it's good news!

I got the engineer's certificate last week. This letter is the last thing I need before he'll issue the blue slip, after which all I need to do is pick up my plates and pay the registration fee.
