Car not starting, problem returned.

Seems my idea of a 'permanent' tech-day at a regular Zed site could really have some merit...???

I seem to be having the exact same problem Lloyd

I seem to be get some clicking prior to the car deciding to crank and start. I have had to clutch the car about 4 times this week.. the car would remain fine for the rest of the day up until the morning again.... i am starting to think either battery or starter motor...

Lloyd, your Zed's symptoms are exactly what mine was doing, and I never fixed it. No clicks, no sound, no nothing. Got to the point where if it happened I didn't even need to get out and rock it, stayed in car, put it in 2nd gear, gripped steering wheel and used the gluteus maximus muscles to rock the car with the seat. Sometimes it took 2 or 3 goes, but it always worked, till the turbos surrendered.

Getting the starter solenoid or replaced checked was on the list of things to do.

 

Your's sounds very much like a crook battery(they don't like cold weather/early Winter mornings) plus you get clicking(lucky Wog Boy).:zlove::zlove:

the clicking sounds like a dead battery not powering the alternator, am i right? If you do it too much it'll eff the starter motor, i've been told

The gun was NOT made by Wokky(and I am well versed in it's use). Oh! And just for the record there were NO maps being used, and I trusted in his ability to write clearly, and my ability to follow those directions.:zlove: Sadly, that trust was misplaced in both cases.:bash::banned::zlove:

if your battery is ok and you have checked that the starter "triger" wire actualy get power when the key is turned to start. it has to be the starter motor or its conection to the battery..
