Probably first home. All was going well, good to see new people and cars, but when we turned off the Esk road and I gave mine a bit of stick a red light came on ( a hot cat. converter) had lost power, and running like a hairy goat,so from the Mt Glorious turnoff I nursed it back to a servo on the Ipswich Hwy (I wanted to be closer to home in case I had to be towed)lifted the bonnet and the black plastic cap on No.1 cyl. plug/coil lead had popped up,I pushed it back down and the engine smoothed out, back to normal. So I'm guessing the coil connector had come loose, and the extra fuel going through the cat increased the temp. causing the warning light. Bummer. I cruized home by myself with the the car running sweet-as
Guyz, thanks for a great day and good turnout Very impressed to see everyone obeying the speed limits... I think my engine has just started to cool down...
So that's where you got to. I thought you tuned around when the Ferarris way to show them how a sports car should really be driven. Glad it was nothing more than a connector problem - heart in mouth stuff for a while there I bet.
Twas a good-day.. Many thanks to r33k for organising it.. i took a stack of pics will upload them shortly.
Great day, I'm stuffed all that driving we must have done at least 250K's. Few new experiences for me, 1) you can pass 2 zeds and 3 motorcycles in one hit, IN A NA, go NA. 2)My gearbox repair is closer than expected, damn 4th. 3)I DON'T...have ABS. 4)finaly a NA carnt do a second gear burnout up a hill, but the cluch makes a smell though.
Re: Great day, I'm stuffed all that driving What a great day !!!! holly hell that's alot of Km's ...... 326km from BP coomera tis morning to home ..... I had a great time ... great to meet the new people .... thankfull it wasnt anything major that caused the overheating Cant wait to see the pics too .. cassanovr@hotmail.com if u wanna send me the ful size ones so i can get em blown up ... Once again thank's R33K...... had a ball... Now the sun is out .. sitting on my balcony over the water enjoying a hard earned ice cold .... Better not drink too much ... gotta drive to tyre shop in the mornin
How did your cars handle it? Mine went off like a crazy thing, but in the process... I have finally found my coolant leak, its behind the engine near the EGR (its a bit wet down there, but not much) My negative Wire onto my battery snapped, so when it stopped, wouldnt start!!! Well apart from avoiding a bloody cow that almost stepped out in front of me (well it would of been bloody) and roadkill, that was all! :zlove:
I don't want to tempt fate but the white zed didn't miss a beat. And at one stage there she hit the ton. Must have been the Zed4life preventative maintenance treatment last week. That section up and over the mountain was mind blowing. 2nd gear in the auto just begged me not to slip her into 3rd - and forget about overdrive. Not to mention the handling ... What do I do to get 14 psi boost?? Just kidding!!
You tempted me already, i wanted to drive on those roads something fierce!! Thanks R33k for a great organised, Thanks Brissie Beauty for a great weekend in general, Had a great time in the Z all weekend, shame i wasn't the pilot. Probably a good thing as I saw Cindy pour a good $70 in today alone. All gone as well. Can't wait to get license back and tear up the neighborhood with you guys again. have to do that cruize again for sure.. Cheers again Fate... Evil's finest
Big thanks r33k very well organised and what an awesome route, definately have to do a re-visit and get the usual suspects out there as well (Richo, K-Zed, Zed4life, pex etc) My car didn't miss a beat all day and was very impressed by the fuel economy i got - 338k's and only used half a tank not bad eh! Bring on the pics!
Im calling shotgun next time Reek! sounds like it was a hell of a day! next time.... :zlove:
Shame I couldn't make it... Would have loved to have taken her for a spin today... Can't wait for the pics. I think this is the first CruiZe that I have missed since I joined the association (including before I even bought the Zed).
Re: Well done R33k  Well, I didn't cruiZe as I was double booked, but I did show up with Tammy and Zedette from about 9:30-10:30 and met up wioth the crew at the start point. Here as 10 pics I took.
Re: Well done R33k  Good Pics PEX!!!, BlazeIt .... that is awesome fuel consumption ..... i filled at BP coomera .... home and now empty  PICS PICS ... MORE PICS!!!!
LOL  It would be extremely difficult to measure (& quantify) your fuel consumption Chris. i.e. Does so much 'sideways' add to yr kilometres travelled???
riding shotgun with R33K there were some scary moments, spent alot of the time just hanging on for the ride! cows and zeds don't mix so it was good timing from the cow, lucky it wasn't crossing half a second earlier. Rich's Z felt nice and tight around those hairpins. got loose a couple of times, nice saves mate I live to race another day!
