I finally got it out of the Police compound at Wheeldons today. They got good prints off it, no pics sorry my phone sucks. Confirmed they dumped it immediately, last time I drove it I put a few bucks of fuel in and hit reset on the trip metre... probably 3 or 4k's to get home from the servo and now has 5.5klms on the trip meter. Considering they did about 2 klms heaps of damage really, but I still got out of it VERY lightly. Door handles gone completely, bit of damage to the door skin. Shouldn't be too hard to fix. All the trim around the steering wheel gone and the ignition barrel was drilled out, was still a drill bit in it. My theory was correct thankfully. Such a lazy sod. Anyway, time for a complete once over... oil change and rad flush and new injector connectors, and a few other small things like I have a brake fluid leak somewhere that have not been able to track down. Very HAPPY!!! And the $289 towing fee was waived... only cost me $88 to get it towed to a mates place in total. Now all I need to do is ring the council about the parking tickets.
Congrats mate, been following your stolen threads and its great to hear you got it back with minimal damage =D
Woohoo great result. Hopefully this will spark a new found enthusiasm into fixing up the issues and using the car more often :zlove:
I don't get this... Every time I know someone who has had their car stolen the damage is immense. How can they make such a ****ing mess in such little time? Do they purposefully try to **** up every part of the car as quickly as possible?
Awesome news Paul! You have proven its pays to be lazy - now if you can help me exlpain that to my wife ill be happy!
