And noooo i'm not talking how much hp is the best to aim for regarding illegal practices. I want to know what has been discussed as the best HP for a zed that isn't setup for drag nor drift, but made for street/track/sprint type purposes, all comes down to turbo choice and seeing alot of gt2860r's tuned to about 450-500rwhp, not lag monsters, but great torque curves. Want to know what others would aim for if they were to build their motor for same purposes... e.i you wouldn't go for a more laggy turbo such as a gt2871 for the street.. would be unpractical. Basically. What is the most extreme, but practice setup for the street? if that makes sence lol

    Thanks.

For a street driven car i would say 270rwkw is a perfect amount....300rwkw on high for when you want to go to track days....people aim for huge power without realising that 300rwkw is HEAPS for the street....so ill say around 270rwkw is a good number for a street car...max

yeah, depending on your turbo setup and supported mods, you'll be able to easily drive a ~300rwkw car on the streets (in the dry). Wet is another story

I'd have to agree. You look at the sort of numbers that porsche, ferrari, aston, etc put out in their better cars, and the motors are putting out no more that 500hp/375kw which is about the 300kw mark at the wheels, probably more with the technology introduced into reducing drivetrain losses. So 270rwkw is a good realistic number. Which can be reliably achieved with a good injector upgrade, some hiflow turbo's, IC's and a tune.

And for you who are about to say you can achieve it with stock blowers and squirts then I did say reliably.

Yeah 300kw is okay for the street good for the twisties but it can leave you wanting more.

I want my car to be as enjoyable at highest kw/torque we can build it. without to much lag, which becomes boring and un-enjoyable. so aiming between 330rwkw - 370rwkw at the moment. With a fully built motor and gt2860r's as turbo choice... sounds practical?

would have thought the 28rs would have been a better choice than the 28r for that power....and that power level, is too much for the street imho....you will rarely be able to use all of it.....legally....unless you have that as your high boost setting for track (370rwkw is still heaps for the track) and then have a much lower figure on low boost for street use..

but imho 370rwkw is too much for the road

if i had a tt.. i would only be aiming for 250 kw mark becuse thats more then enough for a street car (if its a dayly)

ey i believe the best amount of power for the streets is 270rwkw max this is due to the reason you do have to get all that power to the ground and it starts to get hard...but also another thing is remember for the track you dont need 370rwkw, and that the slot car has about 370rwkw for the track and 450rwkw for the drags....he uses all that power and gets it to the ground...also for khanas and all that you have to get your suspension set up right so you can deliver the power to the ground...ask anyone running at those power levels or above...they spin 1st and 2nd gear, so if you are willing to have that much power and you realise that your going to have trouble getting it to the floor then alright. so in conlusion:p i reakon for the streets you should run about 270-280rwkw MAX and for track etc run about 350rwkw coz at the stage you will have to be considering alot more other things so you can control the car...on a side note remember the most powerful car isnt always going to be the fastest

agreed with most of the above 270-280 is a good number to have. personally i cannot 100% comment on how that is on the road but having 300+rwkw on the rd i think is too much, 270-280rwkw is wat im aiming for.... zeds are one of the worst cars to put their power to the ground on the street but u may be able to pull off a 270-280rwkw mildly hard launch without much traction loss, unless u deliberatly want to....

as for 300+rwkw i have not seen one zed that can put that power to the ground on the rd without frying up on a mildly hard launch.... and just for argument sake even a zed with 220rwkw will be infront of u in a drag untill about 140kms which then the 300rwkw zed will pass u fast...
