Boost and temperature will be going in the pillar. I'm in a bit of a predicament 'cause I want some cool brand-name JDM gauges, but they only come in BAR not PSI. If I go American, the temperature gauges only come in Fahrenheit... grr!

My din won't have any space for more. The lower slot will house the head unit, the upper I'm putting together an ECU talk din install. plan on cutting out a din pocket enough to receive the unit and then cover the whole din slot with a slab of carbon fiber cut out for the screen and buttons. I got the piece of carbon and have measured it up against an ECU talk and it looks like it'll work out nicely.

Depending how I go I might get one of those glove box gauge holder things and put in oil temp, pressure and air fuel ratio :) but that'd be taking it pretty far and I wouldn't expect much change from $500 just for that...

Something like this, but I'm sure you can find them for three gauges. otherwise a flat piece of carbon would work...

    Awesome!

Finally got around to reading this epic build thread!

Awesome work Theo, this build and Rods are like my inspiration, just as Rods build was yours, even though mines a year off :p

Love how its coming along, and really like the N/A bar with the FMIC, giving me ideas ;)

Good luck with it mate, will be keeping a close eye on this from now on

Thanks fellas :) With and luck Dean I'll get my wheels on soon, and the thing will actually be worth looking at :)

I got an N-power strut brace from Chilledpain today, only $50 posted! Thanks Jamie!

Decided to fit it up and upload some photos of the engine bay as I haven't got any good ones in this thread.

all the brand stickers (Garrett, Tein, Mine's, VeilSide and Apexi) are representative I can assure you. Stark Industries, Built Not Bought and the shocker are favourites :)

Yeah the autometer gauges from just jap are the goods I have one for the boost gauge...was going to mention glovebox is a smart and safe option but its too out of the way to look at when your driving lol...take it from me! I just moved my boost gauge and have it wedged between the din slot for now...its a little big hahaha....dam it! Oh well at least i'll see it when driving now...Keen to get some oil pressure and water temp gauges though...don't trust my stock ones :p

Yeah, I figured as much. If I were to go with the glove box thing I'd be putting in gauges I wouldn't be keeping an eye on as much (really not necessary on a stock motor IMO) and have it open when I'm fanging it... when I definitely wouldn't be able to look at them by the sound of it. Doesn't sound like such a crash hot idea.

I saw some Australian made gauges in Performance Imports a few weeks ago... seemed pretty cool - any colour and the temperature gauge had a digital reading as well as a meter. looked pretty cool.

The lid on top of the cluster...ive seen a aftermarket fiberglass one with 2 guages (one on each side)...could be a nicer idea rather than a glovebox guage holder :)

haha that's a bit of a stretch! Maybe not much to do on your budget...

    Can't say I am. 300 km p/h Mine's cluster. I'll be going Nistune.

    Nose job!

My new nose panel is here!

This was on the list, one of the few aftermarket nose panels I actually like. Thanks to JamieZ32 who allowed me to get it early by swapping me for my stocker!

Gave it a bit of a sand back from it's very very rough finish (some kind of black prep?) and put it on. I'll have to work on it a bit to make it perfect, but it looks the part :)

Love it! please excuse the splash guard I haven't attached properly since putting on the FMIC.

Thinking of putting some red and blue flashing LED's in the vents... :p

When its painted and probably a chrome mesh behind it will look the part.
    Looking good so far.

I used to be the same, but Derek King's daily drifter and RoadEater's TT convinced me otherwise.

No way! I already pulled off the mesh and cut off the holders for it. Chrome mesh went out with mesh vests on men... and are in some ways comparable! Thanks though :)

    Still not convinced.

I honestly reckon the factory nose panel on that white Zed would look so much sexier.

As long as you pull it off right, I can still appreciate the effort / quality. :)
