Cam (the artist formerly known as 571cky) was kind enought to pick up Aza's very flooded car and drive it down to my workshop on the goldcoast. Mia, Steve (2 thumbs up) and myself got stuck in to stripping out the interior and degreasing everything. Steve and I took on the degreasing duties, while Mia to controlls of the pressure washer.

The mud and oil was well stuck to everything and took a good hit (and 4ltr of degreaser) to get off but we are happy with the results. Even managed to get the tweed trimming and the seats back to their original colour. All the inspection plates for the sills and chassis removed and flushed. Ill make a fish oil crawler and get stuck into the sills when the car has had a few days to dry.

Engine looks promising. The mud stopped before the rubber intake pipes and didnt make it to the throttle bodies and the plenum was dry which is good news but the sump had about 6 ltrs of water in it before the oil drained out. There was only minimal water in the 3 that had water in them. Maybe a tablespoon at the most. Oil has been changed (many will happen) and cylinders cleared. Will look at the electrics soon and see if I can get it to crank. I need to get oil pressure around the engine to flush any other gunk out of it and to stop corossion.

    IMO it looks promising.

Some serious work going in there Al. My bet it will look the best it ever has once you and the crew are done.

    Top work and Kudos :)

I bet there is something that feels fundamentally wrong when you are pointing a pressure hose at a car's interior :D

But it looks like it is doing the trick. Top job

After discussion with Eric (a2zed), attempting to get it to start without stripping the engine for inspection could fail miserably. Had a few hours spare this arvo so 2thumbsup and myself pulled the engine to go up to Eric for a tear down.

Damn NA motors are easy to pull out. I had only done TT motors before.

Wow that's an extreme clean with the pressure cleaner on the inside of the Zed. So much work involved, good to see the club all getting involved and keeping this particular Zed going!:zlove:

Doing a great job there. The volunteering spirit it alive and kicking. It will be good if the zed can be resurrected without to much work. Aza usually does an annual rebuild anyway doesn't he? :p
Should go even faster without all the trim.

You can hide it with fish oil smell. :p

The car is smelling alright its the drivers seat that reeks.

I ditched the passenger seat as I had a spare.
Anyone got a spare drivers seat they arent using and want to donate to the cause?
