Has anyone tried or seen the Circuit sports ignition amplifier?

"CIRCUIT SPORTS PLUG AND PLAY (PNP) DIRECT IGNITION SYSTEM (DIS) AMPLIFIER FOR ALL VEHICLES. STOCK IGNITION AMP WORKS AROUND 12-12.5V, CS DIS AMP PROVIDES TRUE PLUG AND PLAY SOLUTION TO BRIDGE BETWEEN THE STOCK IGNITION HARNESS BY UTILIZING FACTORY STOCK COILPACKS TO ENHANCE THE VOLTAGE UP TO 16.5V SAFELY. WITH INCREASED VOLTAGE IN THE SPARK, MORE TORQUE AND HP CAN BE ACHIEVED THROUGH OUT THE ENTIRE RPM RANGE REGARDLESS OF ENGINE SETUP. WITH ITS INTRICATE BUILT IN CIRCUITRY, CS DIS AMP HAS A BUILT IN FAILSAFE MODE IN THE EVENT IF AMP FAILED, THE IGNITION SYSTEM WILL RETURN BACK TO FACTORY NORMAL STATE WITHOUT ANY DRIVABILITY OR STALLING ISSUES. "

In the past there was talk of using an LS1 coil to give more punch in the spark. This might be an alternate?

Searching around, I cant seem to find any experience with this thing??

I can picture how this works but you'll have to consider what negative effects will occurs when upping the voltage. Might be too much for the Oem coil pack. Might burn it out. Premature failure. Increase in heat... Theoretically there is nothing wrong with what it's trying to achieve. But in practice it would have to be tested.
