if a car been defected and it's rego has run out, all it needs to get on the road is a safety cert and to be re-registered. No need for it to be looked at by the plods afik.

its correct in nsw, also if registered into a new name in nsw defect also becomes void, as a friends r33 went over pits and taken off the road, he rego'd in brothers name ^_^ and all good

Someone i know was defected, took their car off the road, let rego run out (due to other circumstances beyond his control) , then re-registered it (new plates etc) got a road worthy, all good.

Sorry to hijack the thread, just showing that the defect might not be a black mark against the car if it is re-registered with new plates.

Is anyone out there genuinely interested in this car less brakes and diff/sub frame assembly? I can organise replacement oem brakes and diff so the car can be driven. Send me a pm if you're interested in doing a deal.

    Hmmm

If this was road worthy I'd seriously consider buying it as I'm getting a payout soon and might just sell mine.

OK great shoot me a PM... need to know how much you'd pay for the engine (I don't want it so not a bidding war or anything), and we see if my price for bits plus your price for egine adds up to $20k. Otherwise we're going to have to find some more buyers!

Well if it has been registered before it is comlied, so all you need for NSW rego is engineer's certificate (good idea with mods) and blue slip.

This car is better sold as whole. It's a well built machine and only if I had the money would I buy it and strip it, to put in my already registered car.
Plus rob260, if you wanted to buy parts off it then you'll have to take the whole car first. Pete has no where to keep it.

The car would easily have more than 50k in it.

Are you advertising this anywhere else Pete? Get some exposure!

Id buy the motor and turbo setup, only thing holding me back is it needs new rings and bearings .

    Trev

p.s plus id like the car to stay as a whole.

Yes I know I have discussed this with Pete before making original post...

Agree better to buy as a whole but there seem to be alot of people interested in little bits and pieces that don't have a lazy $20g OR room for a spare car.

    Well

Stick some HIDS in there, remove the rear wing fill it in and patch it up nice so no one will know it was ever there and I'll buy it when I get this upcoming payout :)

Should'nt be long now at all. I'd have to drive it back to Sydney :p

PS Get some pics up (interior also) and link isent working.

not really much i can do about putting HIDs in etc, that requires money.

i will have to fix the link tomorrow as i pulled the amec web site down.
