hey guys, my air con. hmmm. when i press the auto button alot of air starts spewing out which is great but its not cold. i set it 2 about 18 or so an nothing, just not cold. What do i do?
I've got the Same problem in my Z. I took it in for a Regas and was told it was already alright, and that it must be an electrical problem.. Yet to get it fixed though, as even though they are an automotive electrician type business, they didn't have wiring diagrams and couldn't be assed going to nissan to get them. Bastards.
I have the same problem with mine. Is yours a J-spec? When i bought mine the guy who i bought it off said the system had to be de-pressurised before it's imported to conform with regulations. Don't know if this is true or not though
Mine needs to re gassed also, but someone in jap land has added a switch on the dash which i've traced back to the ECU to manually activate something to do with the A/C because it wasen't able to do it itself any more. Some one else here had the same problem, Zed4life I think. Something to do with a faulty climate control computer. Ben
Sorry for going of track with this question i wanted to know if there is any gains in performance by removing the aircond
Small weight loss by removing the system. But if you press the econ button, the compressor doesn't come on so no real gain. Just don't turn it on. If it's a street car and you live somewhere hot, I'd leave it in for those hot days in peak hour traffic. If your having some fun on the road, just don't turn it on.
To do it legally, you have to take it to any aircon regas shop. By law, you have to be licensed to remove the air con gas from a car. If you need a retrofit you'll be looking at around $300+. Just a regas around $60-$100. Of course, if you need a regas it means you have a leak, so the cost to fix that leak could vary from $20 for a new hose to hundreds for a new compressor.
whats your ambient temp say? mine says its -88 so of course it never cools.... its got some lil gate thing broken... pex reccons save it to the tech day to fix it... im all for that!
Mine is booked in for next week for regas +++ I rang the aircon people today, if there is no sticker under the bonnet saying the gas has been changed to R134A I think thats the number. If not it is probably the original gas and they would have to remove it safetly then change some of the components in the system like filter etc then check for any leaks then regas with the accepted refrigerant. It would normally cost $115.00 for regas if car was updated already, but to do a conversion will cost $240.00 completed with gas. Hope this helps
thats because the air sensor that is on the front bar of the car is disconected and its not getting a reading
another cause of this problem is that the climate control fan inside the cabin (above the head) is faulty.
Yes, that is faulty or disconnected ambient air temp sensor Sure I mentioned that b4. We can check if it is still there and reconnect it if disconnected, but if it is missing, you will need a new/replacement one.
