I meant overall... Wait, probably more like $9000.
I know a guy that owns a panel shop. He quoted me $3800 to respray my MR2 with door jams, windows out etc. including kit fitment.
300ZX is a bit bigger so maybe $4800 for a respray and fitment.

$4800 + $4500 for kit... Damn... Bit over $9000.

    I'm still keen though...

You might do well to withdraw those allegations.
It is well known that certain events led to the downfall of that GB, none of which involved an "all-to convenient cover up" as you so quaintly put it.
Who do you suggest was involved in this "cover up"?

Then you need wheels and tyres to fill those guards (5k) and some coilovers to get the height right and some camber arms to fix up the effects of lowering ($2.5k)

Yeah I've got all that in mind too.

You guys might have seen my friend driving round in a green widebody R34 (plates "CR34M"). He has fairly small wheels with HUGE spacers on and it skates everywhere at the moment. Wide wheels are a necessity.

If I decide to do the widebody zed I will build it over a full year and do everything exactly how I want it.
It will take every cent of my annual income but I will do it... :zlove: I think

Lol, no that was Andy who looks like Vin Diesel. Jason (ZX2NV) ran the group buy, then ran away.

i dont think cover up is the right way to describe it but it was hardly what you'd call a transparent investigation

What are the "certain events" that lead to the downfall of that GB? Spill!

This sounds like a case for Lenny and the black dude.

    "Doink doink!"

The emergence of the Equine Flu epidemic which decimated the Australian horse racing industry, and the subsequent collapse of ZX2NV's company (which had major contracts with the horse racing industry)which resulted in a severe financial and personal disaster for all concerned.

I do not intend to elaborate further, as this is not going to be used to re-open this debate, as far as I'm concerned.

It was removed from discussion on this forum, so as not to compromise attempts to reach a satisfactory settlement for those persons caught up in the issue.
In my humble opinion, that was the appropriate action for all parties concerned.

I agree with what you've said there Lloyd. I also was a big fan of Jason's , i think he was a pioneer in our community and any dealings i had with him were good. I dont accept for one minute that Jase set out to rip anyone off, the opposite in fact, i think he was probably trying to do people a favour by making available a product that has not previously been available in AUS.

having said that . if a favourable outcome is not reached for those who are out of pocket then i think that some details of this story should be made public, not out of spite but so that future buyers may better protect themselves.

That about sums it up. Things like collapse of a business don't excuse it, as the money we put forward shouldn't have been tied in someones private business, that money was for the specific purpose of getting copies of a kit made, transport etc. etc. Not for investment purposes. I can invest my own money thankyou.

there's no excuse for what happened at all, i dont think Chili was trying to excuse it. I think what he was saying was that the forum's approach to it was not to hide the details of what happened but to limit the public exposure so that a solution could be reached between the involved parties without the whole thing getting out of hand

Any chance of a solution being reached went out the door years ago, when was the last time jason made himself available for contact from any of these guys? The guys a thief there's no too ways about it, victims have nothing to gain by sugar coating it now.

This sure is exciting. That's too bad his business went balls up, but the points made above are valid too. His car was ugly anyway...

I have a solution to all of this. To the original poster; go and get a quote for duplicate moulds to made for this kit. The intial outlay would be a bit pricey but thereafter it should be somewhat reasonable to get kits made.

Wasnt there a dude who made wide body kits around here? Maybe he could do it?

a 5 figure scam is what i call it

no ni ,the forums approach was just to hide it like it never happened,no threads are allowed to be started on it,no reference is allowed to be made to it ,pityful
