91 300ZX back fire`s

Hi i was wandering if anyone know`s what can make my car back fire it seem`s to do it when you accelerate a little harder.1991 300 ZX TT. Hope someone can help me with this.

And when you bring up the revs, not under load it seem ok or at least alot better.Also sometimes when driving the car just cut out.But i can restart the car just glad i have a brand new battery.

 

Some backfiring can be as a result of unburnt fuel vapour entering the hot exhaust and igniting somewhere along the pipes(this could be your problem, as you mention that it happens when accelerating). You may also have one or more misfiring spark plugs.
You need to get it checked & tuned by someone with an Exhaust Gas Analyzer.

 

Replacing the plugs would be my first point of contact. I've seen plugs to be the source of many a backfiring problem, as it doesn't take much to foul them.

Check and clean all the connectors in the engine bay

Especially injector , p.t.u and coil connectors.

 

Also faulty AFM could do it, making the car seem to bog down and be powerless.

 

This is a definate possibility. The most common time is during hard accellerating or more commonly (believe it or not).. stopping the car! the exhaust may have unburnt fuel in there and all of a sudden there is no airflow to cool the pipes and they momentarily heat up (i've even seen them glow!) and ignite the fuel. looks rather impressive at night... However not so impressive when you have just gotten out of the car and walked past the exhaust!
