G'day, i have a 1985 NA Z31 300ZX for sale, it caught fire last night in the engine bay, and thanks to the quick work of the local firies, sustained only damage to the right hand side of the engine bay - could be fixed by anyone with enough time, as the wiring loom is virtually non existant. probably more use as a spare parts car. it has a straight body, great engine (should be ok) great interior, everything else works fine. t-tops, mp3 cd player, pioneer 6x9's. still has about 5 months rego. tyres are only 12 months old. looking for around $1500, but that is negotiable. obviously it doesnt run, so it needs to be towed, and i can't tow it with my push bike!! so its going to need to be picked up from Hobart. if your interested, or want to see photos, contact Dwayne on 0400094852 kenomatic@gmail.com
yeah, the car did stink of fuel about 6 months ago, so i had the injectors serviced by a mechanic, and all fixed up so the smell stopped. I've had it looked at by fire fighters, and they concluded that it was something electrical, because the car hadn't warmed up at all, and the damage is concentrated away from the injectors. also the wiring loom is MIA, so chances are its shorted somehow somehow. as for the price its fully negotiable. its messy on one side of the engine, but to put it in perspective the paint on the bonnet is still fine, so it wasn't a big fire at all, but enough to make it not run, and a bit of a headache for a novice to repair. the engine itself appears virtually untouched, and obviously the rest of the drivetrain is fine, as well as straight chassis, and great interior, so adding all that together, i'd say $1500 is fair - if you dont want to pay that much make an offer, i'll take just about any reasonable offer.
