    Year: 1989
    Body (2+0/2+2): 2+2
    Engine (Turbo/NA): TURBO
    Transmission (MT/AT): MT
Interior (Cloth/Leather): FRONT SEATS TWEED & REAR LEATHER
    Odometer: 159,000
    Price: $11,500
    Contact Details:

Just had Mark at MRC complete a compression test - cold & hot results by cylinder number:

Mark said that he believes these results are good & that the engine is still running in / piston rings bedding in & due to this is still causing some smoke issues upon startup.
This combined wih the engine being built with slightly larger than usual piston to bore clearance causes some white smoke upon startup, combined obviously with some oil usage as well.

Due to the above reasons, I have priced the car at this price.
I think it's still a steal, considering the parts used in this car.
NOTE:There is nothing wrong with this car interms of driveability / reliabilty or performance, I have been driving around on the low boost setting for 90% of the time (326 RWKW @16psi) & it pulls like crazy & loses traction quiet easily once the turbo's kick in hard around 4,000rpm.

I will not reply to PM's or offers lower than this amount - you could buy this car, strip all the parts, sell em & make back 90% of the price I'm asking.
So any low ballers or people wanting to criticise can just move right along.

The engine has done approx just under 2,000klm's since the rebuild (980k's driving back from QLD to Sydney upon completion of rebuild from A2Z)

To see the full list of mods & work thats gone into the car, check out the build thread below:
    Dyno tune thread:

quick list of what the car's got:

    Soundstream SST4.6 4 x 6 rear speakers
    Jaycar quality amp.
    Auxillary input

The not so good: - as stated above, using some oil & blowing some white smoke upon startup.
Cam gear chatter which occurs only for about 2 minutes - only upon warmup - this is due to the heavy duty valve springs & does not affect the performance or risk damaging the engine itself.
Front passenger side wheel is buckled due to having to swerve away & into a curb from a car that was about to run into me - this causes no vibrations or tyre wear issues thus far.
    This wheel is unrepairable.
Rear bumper needs a respray after some dickhead rammed into me from behind - he was doing about 20k's.
    Damage is only paint related.

I have the pre-sale inspection reports I had carried out from ZED4LIFE & A2ZED before I purchased the car about a year and a half ago, to make sure it had no probs - both reports were very good in regards to general condition of the car.
As you can see I'm trying to be a genuine and honest seller. I have treated this car with respect and would love it to remain within the forum community. Please serious buyers only. Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

    Cheers Sav

I can't believe this.. I spent $13000 on my car when i got it, mostly stock..but the guy had $12000 worth of receipts for the past 1.5 years of ownership.

Since then I have done about 95% of the same mods as you, I haven't ported my heads and I just have hypergear hiflows.. I am up to about $22000 total spent including buying the car and I did all the work myself.. I just got my exhaust installed and am so keen to tuner her this weekend and next and see how much I can get out of her.

And then you go and do this to me!!

This is depressing! Somebody is going to get an amazing deal here.. I'll see if I can convince one of my mates to buy her so I can ensure she is well looked after.

Goodluck and all the best... I wish you would keep her though!

or you could snap it up now and fix her for later when you're on yer blacks :p
I dropped the same amount of $$$ on my Z, if i had known this would come up out of the blue i'd have waited just one more month. even with a dented rim and some smoke issues, this is a LOT more than what i got for 11k.
375...at the wheels man D: :br:

Hell I'm in SA and I'm seriously considering it! Even had a chat with the loans man today...

If it were a 2+0 and later than 89 I wouldn't even be considering, it'd be a definate.

would have bought if it were a 2 seater as well.
i wouldnt drive on that rim, the spoke looks like it has a crack all the way straight through it..

Sad to seeing you selling Sav, after all the work that has gone into the car by you. It shouldn't take long to sell at the listed price.

2+2 has a lot more advantages over a 2 seater. I'm not sure why some are put off by this.

It's a matter of personal taste.

EDIT: I should say that I'm out. The reasons holding me back previously mentioned plus the headache of getting it back here.... not that I'll find anything similar locally with that much value for the price.

Why are you selling it? are you just after cash or are you after another car? would you consider swaps?

Hey Sav, any chances of closing this thread?! Told you I'll remind you tonight...

Before this thread is closed, I feel I have to comment on this.

Sav came by for the Tech day yesterday and I was lucky enough to be taken for a ride in this Zed. None of the mod descriptions listed do it justice. It is an absolute beast. Pulls extremely hard and clean up to the red regardless of the gear you're in. Being in the passenger seat it would be akin to having a stick of dynamite explode behind you feeling your chest cave in, as you're suddenly shot out of a freaking gun!. I can't remember the last time feeling the need to instantly and frantically latch onto something around me... ohhh wait, yes I can, about 10 years ago in my cousins old 380rwkw Zed.

Even more bizarre a twist was Sav gave me the privilege of being the first to take it for a drive other then him (still blown away by that mate, appreciate the trust). The incredible thing is this Zed drives more tame and docile then some other member's Zeds I've been in. It just feels incredibly comfortable to drive, very smooth, clutch is very comfortable, steering is silky smooth and ride comfort is also very nice (felt some very rock hard suspension setups... that I loathed), bottom line is this could easily be used as a daily. It also typically drives like any other car until you plant your foot. I'm told also the fuel economy isn't all that bad either (relative to other TT Zeds lol), and depressingly, is on par with my pitiful 230rwkw Zed lol. Not to mention made me come home and heave a great big disappointing sigh at my own Zed lol.

In regards to the smoke issues, I couldn't see it. I saw it drive by, I drove it myself, and I stood behind the car as Sav rev'd it. All I saw was a tiny bit of black smoke (unburnt fuel), which is fine, and zero white smoke. I would guess all the oil smoke issues are on start up, and I would also venture to say they disappear once its warmed up. Bottom line, this engine is still being run in. There are going to be some minor issues. I wouldn't pass judgement on it till its past 10000Kms.

I could rave for hours over this thing. But I'll end it with this, this Zed is a machine. An absolute beast. Sav, if you decide to keep it. Please treat it with respect and care, it certainly deserves it. Issues aside, its still a rare and good condition Zed despite the year (and seat configuration :p). If you decide to sell it, please make sure it goes to someone who will also respect and take care of it. :zlove:

Thanks for the kind words guys, especially Emile:)

Being in the passenger seat for the first time actually made me realise how much of a weapon this thing really is - Emile & I were driving ONLY on the low boost setting & it was enough to make us both squirm in our seats whilst giving it about 70% throttle.

You could def say that i've fallen in love all over again.

I'll give it another week before I close this thread & possible change my mind about selling.

& to those few people who are PM'ing me offering 10k or a swap for a Commonwhore with some cash my way can stop wasting their time.

    $11,500 firm.

BTW forgot to mention it has rego unitl 04/12

    Thanks all.

I don't even own the Zed and I feel insulted...
