300ZX TT Vs. XR6 Turbo

I read somehwere on hear that a 300zx cant beat an XR6.

I have a 1992 Nissan 300ZX TT Auto, iv raced and beaten one b4.

Just on my lunch break (eat fast then drive fast) i raced another 2 and beat them. (to 70k, then they always keep going when i slow down coz i dont wana get speeding fine)

But yer, i got an old 300zx, not much done to it apart from body kit, dont even know if its had its full service and i can beat them..?

Stock for stock pretty close.
Go up against a worked one and u will get smoked badly. 4l vs 3l.
xr6 turbs have the potential to be one of the fastest street cars ever (in a straight line lol )

Yep, they actually come stock with a pretty hefty turbo on them, can't remember which one off hand but if you put a nice FMIC, bigger injectors and good tune - you can boost the hell out of them and get really good power from a stock arrangement.

Scary stuff for a stock *cough* Ford.

So stock, they arnt liek super fast like they all make out..

but in all... yeah.. stock you can probably take one.. but as said.. if they get done up a bit then probably get left behind...

 

i dont know :S.. but as for the they think they have a fast car.. stock.. they are fast.. but.. as for the attitude... its a fairly sad but common thing amongst ford and commadore drivers.. (some of them are good) but there are some really bad ones that think they have the fastest thing on the road..

xr6t are errrr alright stock...a boosted zed could beat one easily imo....i think they come with a t35 turbo stock, and just boosted and exhaust they can get close to 300rwkw...do all the other things like coolers, valves etc, you can punch through 400rwkw, my uncle had bout that in his xr6t...they have an awesome platform for performance in a straight line but around the corners they honestly feel like they're a boat, hope that helps

 

they must have been pretty shit xr6t's for you to have beat them. these cars are fkn tough. my best mates xr which i see everyday has spent about 4grand on just basic bolt on mods and is pushing out 300rwkw. these cars are soooooooo easy to extract big power from. he even has the STOCK exhaust still on bar the cat. go on the xr6t forum and go check out there lists. they have COUNTLESS 11sec cars, 12sec cars and 10sec cars etc.... they also have forum areas 300rwkw club, 400rwkw club, 500rwkw. these cars are just awsome for extracting power.

so in saying that you either raced a stock one otherwise he would have left you for dead. no ifs no buts. and if it was only a stock one, well meh its stock .....they come out detuned, take it to get flashed and an extra 50kw will be gained instantly, then race him again

 

but you cant have a shit car and just claim its awsome becouse of its potention,, untill you do that shit to it, I'm still faster..

Lol, MRC in Sydney do a bolt on 350rwkw kit for 4 grand,
few pages on it in one of the Zoom mags, can't find the # atm.:biggrin:

A zed would go alrite with that as well..

For that money you could get;

-FMIC
-Injectors
-Emanage blue and tune
-EBC
-Exhaust

Boost it to just over 1 bar and i'm sure you could hit 260 - 270 rwkw...

On topic i raced on in my 180sx when i first got it and got chopped badly, but that was with the original fkd clutch too

Passenger was like "oh man, he won"

i was like "yeah i knew he would but it was fun trying" lol

....but i dont do that shit anymore.....coz id loose LOL
but more importantly because I DO prefer my once a year trip to the 1/4 mile. At least then you KNOW he was ready, and you were ready, and YES you WERE both trying.....so on the legal strip, a win is a win, no questions asked.

Cheapest used xr6t is still like 15 grand. Find a TT zed for 5 grand and you already have an additional 10 grand to spend on mods.

how sure are you?

firstly you dont need injectors as they wont be maxing out at just over a bar. so the rest of those mods mentioned sound good for 250rwkw on a manual. less on an auto.... and even with that power dude 300rwkw+++ xr6t will hand you your ass....

my mate on sat got a 12.6 1/4mile run on street tyres and a bloody hot day if you remember sat that just passed. he got 116mph which is good for an 11, he couldnt get the 60ft time down which he was getting 2.24.

 

Buy one for

5, probably have to spend another 10 to get it up to srcratch, even before you start to mod it.
anyway this is about the xr6t is it not? d00d.
