true. thanks guys... not going to do it, asking for trouble.. ++ tt on p's is mad enough, but liked the input. thanks all.
Already mentioned that in my first post. Well actually, not exactly but still on the same lines. Externals, screamers, You know what I mean haha.
i think from memory, Chad's dumps (custom made) had the wastegate pipe flanged so that he could unbolt and run a screamer, or bolt it back up so that it flows back into exhaust? Nothing to do with 2-step though. Or antilag...
I think mr zed x is planning something big! All these tech questions and buying parts. Must have some pretty big turbos lined up! :zlove:
massive turbos with antilag and external gates with screamer pipes hell yea do it. I would love to hear the beast
hahaha thanks man. btw regarding the evo : " There are two opening in the exhaust manifold that open between shifts that let ambient air into the system and allows for combustion in the turbo manifold which keeps the turbo spooled." so technically this could be adapeded into the zed's exhaust manifolds? with custom work obviously?
Probably a lot easier to run nitrous. Flip up passenger seat with 3 little bottles hidden away...Oh wait, it's not an RX7 is it. Even just a set of custom manifolds to direct the exhaust at the turbo better will improve spool. Space is what kills or the glorious mods for a Z though. If you could get it all pointing in the right direction and inprove the flow, it will allow more exhaust to hit the turbine at a faster rate. Team that with head work, bored and matched upper and lower plenum, cams, and huge dumps that flow the exhaust and wastegate exhaust properly (low turbulence), should give wicked power and lower lag. Greater fuel supply is then needed, so fuel pump, reg, injectors and a good rich tune to start off. Shortest possible intake pipes help too. Less air space means shorter compression time. But there's not alot you can do about it considering the piping and cooler size required. It's all about getting the engine to breathe easier, then stuff it with more fuel and air! Doing all that will give you much more power per psi than standard, as there's more air space to compress. So at the same boost level, you are forcing more air. This is where you need a good tune to prevent leaning out, because this set up would die harder than standard if it were starved for fuel. $20k... or more later you should have a 10 second car! I know I'm stating the obvious but I get excited over force inducted power it gives me a hard on!
get a microtech man,. they not only do anti lag, and launch control , fully tuneable and u can get rid of the pesky afms
Yeah but it seems not many people know how to tune Microtechs! One tuner told me, "With rotors, they're good, piston engines are difficult." I have no idea with that is but hey, each to their own. I've only heard this from a handful of people.
hahah ^^ thanks heaps sticky. will get on this. going to be faily exciting haha. sounds great, was looking at motec but will try these out, any specific model you would recommend? haha can or cant? ^ see this is what i heard from melbourne performance centre (the tune mclaren race cars, lambos etc) they are hard to tune and not really that recommend. they said to try motech or haltech? im not sure, i think i will build the engine first then come to this.
3rd. I run microtech and i only found one guy that was willing to give it ago. Happens to be the eldest out of all the places i asked at and he was going to regraph my dizzy (yes dizzy) along with a few other bits. Have just simply road tuned it with a very safe map. I found it not that difficult, and im reletively new to ecu work. haltech and motech are mentioned all the time, maybe a tad simpler but became common in all the movies.
