hi everyone,

for sale is my 1990 300zx, i bought it a few months ago hoping for a weekend cruiser but seems to have turned into a bit of a project car which i simply dont have the time for due to work commitments, which sucks as this thing has a lot of potential

Good points

the car is pretty straight except for 1 or 2 shopping centre bumps
has a new fuel filter fitted, interior is in excellent condition. car has been servieced recently, including spark plugs etc.
new drift style steering wheel and boss kit (may keep will decide upon sale)
new dash headlight/cruise control assembly (not installed yet)
new tie rod ends (yet to be installed)
new drive shaft centre bearing (yet to be installed)
new gas struts for rear hatch (yet to be installed)

Bad Points

upon giving the car a service i have found that piston 6's spark plug was covered in oil, and number 4 had some fine metal shavings, it is blowing a bit of smoke, but the engine still runs fine and isn't burning any oil, as i said before i dont have the time to find out what is wrong with it. engine still feels strong and healthy, and revs to red line with no hassle's.

there is a slight vibration in the rear end, hence the reason i have bought the new centre bearing for the drive shaft and new tie rod ends, as far as i can tell these will get rid of the vibration, still trying to find the time to install them, hopefully its done by the time someone comes and takes a look.

thats all i can think of for now, best off coming and having a look, what you see is what you get. im being completely honest here, the car does need some work, just trying to get some money back, I was kept in the dark when I bought the car so yeh, don?t want that happening to someone else. refer to this thread if you lik probly has a bit more info on the car than what ive put up here

That's a shame mate... Are the seats in it genuine recaros? If so, and you'd be willing to sell them separate then you might have some interest

I'd obviously throw you my current seats to put in the car

 

as far as i know they are, ill get some photo's up for you,

similar to these ones but will have to double check tonight, haven't been in the car for 2 weeks lol

also, if i dont get the money im asking for ill consider parting the car out,

Haha thanx man, not sure if they're original or not bit they hold you in pretty dam well lol, good news car is no longer blowing smoke since changing spark plugs and oil etc, hopefully it stays this way, will keep posted if anything changes.

 

Just a question but what colour smoke was it blowing? Looking at a few different TT's atm.

Can't comment a whole lot about mechanics but can give it a look over.

 

It was blowing a whiteish grey sort of colour smoke, i think it might have just been a fouled plug as since i changed them and gave it a service it has stopped, jamie lives around the corner from my work so of you want hime to take a look hes more than welcom

 

They're not original in the sense that the car wasn't sold with them, but I see no reason to think they're not genuine Recaro seats. Just take a video of the car showing the exhaust tips, from a cold start up to warm before giving it a good throttle kick. that should show Nem what he needs to know.

 

If its ok i can come up on the weekend to have a look at it. I'm checking out two others over the next fortnight....this one looks the best cosmetically but i still need to make sure the engine is sound.

thats probly only an hour or so away from my work so not too bad, can still meet friday arvo if you like, i finish work at 2 so can be down your way by 3-3:30.

yes its got rego till august 23rd, theres also a couple of blemish's in the paint which you cant see in the photo's ive put up, will take some pics of them today and post them up. the only one that worry's me is the one on the bonnet where the paint is starting to peal off. ill post them tonight so you can decide if you still want to check it out

ok...so ive got a quick vid of the car blowing smoke after revving, doesn't seem to blow smoke upon start up so no point taking a vid of that, and only does it when the car is warm and after you give the accelerator a stab an back off.
