my father cited my Z purchase was crazy as it's an old car and not practical for a family.
Whose the first person they called when my brother moved house and needed a trailer to help shift :)

I wish I'd been there to see a yellow Z hauling a load of wardrobes & mattresses.
Sooo elegant. Did you have some clothes baskets full of crap perched on top of the load ?

This concept certainly occurred to me before taking the Falcon option. That would make a statement on the highway :D:D:D. However, engineering the Z to tow 2300kg like the Falcon can, legally and safely, would have far outweighed the "cool" factor.

FWIW, I don't see any issues with a Z having having a towbar. Yeah, it's a GT, or a sports car, but so what??? I like what you've done Greg - good job. Another member here tows his hobby hovercraft with his Z (Datzboy), I did a double take last September when I saw him on the Newell Highway!

Exactly!! Good for you! whack it on, and you're only expanding on what you can do with your Zed which is only a good thing. and when you're not using it, you just unbolt the tow hitch tongue and no one know any wiser ;)

People who put this idea down are a bit silly and can't think outside the box. I was a bit like this at first, but later on i toyed with the idea and finally thought "fark it" and did it! One of the handiest mods i've done and never regretted it! :)

Happy Jetski'ing when it arrives at the ramps in style behind a hot Zed! :zlove:

how do you find using the zed to reverse the trailor down the ramp for the jetski or the boat?

any troubles maintaining grip on the ramp when pulling the boat up from the water ect?

i'd love to have one on my next zed... tow the tiny to the river for a fish then drive home in comfort and style in my zed!

i seriously doubt that would be any problem i have 265s on the rear with good tyres,if a standard falcon can pull a boat up with 205s i zed will breeze a jet ski or tinny up

Exactly. The only traction issues you'll have is a light car - which the Zed aint! So a nicely weight car like the Zed with some phatties on the rear will be MORE than ample traction for dropping your boat/ski into the water. i've never had any issues at all. Apart from all the onlookers checking out how hot your shit is! :D

Concrete ramp and you'll have no problems.
The biggest problem with reversing a jestki trailer with the Z is the blind spots, and the fact that the jet ski trailers are quite skinny.
I ended up welding rods to the wheel arch supports of the trailer which assists especially when the trailer starts down the ramp and disappears out of sight

yes obviously driving 300zx's on the sand is probably best avoided :p

You can still get sand washed up onto concrete ramps at low tide, I've been caught once and needed a push

10yo Galvanised trailer that gets dunked in the ocean on a regular basis is not too bad for it's age :)
