rebuild

Hey all I am rebuilding 1 of my vg30dett engines. sending it to be machined going 40thou over, decked and acid bath . just wondering is there anything else that is a good idea to do to the block while it is in getting done? and do you agree 300 bucks for this work is fair price? seems good to me.

dam straight. make sure they X-ray it first to check for cracks

cryo treat it to make sure you can increase structural strength of the block

remember get your blocked checked out first before you order the pistons !!! some blocks have more meat than others

 

Its good you tell me that cause one place told me to buy the pistons first. I dont know why they said that though. Anyway the operation starts tommorow .. hopefully I will have it all together real soon .. Gonna use hypergear to high flow my turbos too.

 

How much power are you hoping for?

 

I would be happy with around 240 to 250 rwkw. its going to be my daily driver. then when its all done will pull the other zed off the road and look into something more for track maybe. this engine now is out of my 93 mod 2 seater. One of the turbos went and i thought rather than mess around will just rebuild it ..less stress.. Maybe

thanks mate. yes i will shop around a little.. but so far caz has had the most reasonable local prices. I have looked on ebay too for importing some lighter parts but it seems a few too many crooks on there with inferiour products.
