Bridgestone Adrenalin's? I love mine, so quiet and they're wearing ok! Not to pricey either considering how good they are. Surprisingly good in the wet too!

NEXEN N3000 Less than $800 for a set of four (235/40/18 front, and 265/35/18 rear).
Excellent wet weather handling, and very grippy in the dry(I get about 18 months per set from a daily driver).

chalk and cheese between an Adrenalin and a Nexen.
    compare a daewoo and a DB9.

i'd be happy with some nice cheapies too, if that's all i drive on. but if you want to really on your tyres... i suggest don't get entry level stuff

I seem to recall you once mentioning in a post that there is a date on the rubber, so that you can tell how old the rubber is

If it's too old, it doesn't grip well

    is that correct?

I used to think you were knowledgeable about tyres(but I think you may be biased by your loyalty to your employer).

I have been driving in many levels of motorsport(and was employed as a professional driver for most of my life), for you to suggest that I "compromise" my safety and that of my passengers for the sake of "cheap arsed" tyres, is nothing short of insulting.

You may be a tyre salesman buddy, but I am a tyre user(and I know when I'm using a good all round tyre)and so do many other NEXEN N3000 users, so save it for the boardroom.

Ive had Bridgestone Potenza RE050A's and even when they were close to bald they still had great grip in the wet. I now have Perrili P Zero Rosso's and they are bloody awesome. :D:D
Cannot describe how good they stick to the road, in the rain it feels exactly the way it does in the dry and you can have 100% faith in them when you take corners quick in the rain the car will go where you want it to go not where it wants to go :)

Yeah mate, last 4 digits of the serial (wwyy) where ww is the week and yy is the year. So 2908 would be the 29th week of 2008 as the manufacture date.

Regardless of the date, tyres that have been consistently used through more than 50% of their tread depth, especially vigourously, and then stored for a period of time will harden up to a point where they loose alot of their grip, particularly in the wet. This, in my opinion makes second hand tyres a sketchy option at best.
