So i went to united jhust before to gas up the falcon, and over my shoulder i see PREMIUM 100 OCTANE on the bowser on its own...then i look around and i see on the normal bowsers with 3 pumps, there was 95 octane + 10% eth which is green, then blue premium 92 octane, no eth, and then i see the RED PREMIUM 98 OCTANE. 98 and 100 octane where same price. So after scratchign my head, I went inside to discuss it with the indian behind the counter. Apparently 100octane is new and there are goign to be a host of servos and different companies that will be supplying 100 octane very shortly. He confirmed wiht me that 100% it does NOT contain any ethanol. But then he told me the 98octane also did not contain any eth. But if i recall correctly when I use to put UNITED 98 OCTANE it had 10% eth. So dont know what to currently belive. I also asked why both are pirced the same 98 + 100octane, and he said it will stay the same till the 100octane kicks off. (mind you its 13cents more than normal unleaded). Anyone used this yet? Results? Feedback? Pinging?
No. But can I add...why the heck would your car ping any more on 100 octane than it would on a lower octane fuel?
the top 10 most powerful cars in the SH need 100 octane to be able to hold such massive power lol but nar, i havent noticed this fuel at the servos yet, will be interesting to hear the results
zedex i was referring to people runnign their car harder / diff tune from 98 to 100 octane. More timing/boost maybe with 100octane to than your normal 98. How much more can you do before it starts to ping...thats the road i was going to.
have to check my local one then... atm i cant get 98 because it was bp ultimate that was only at 1 servo, rest are 95 octane, even the shell vpower is 95 here ...... and bp are out of ultimate till march...
Well i'd say it's the same level of octane rating as any other petroleum that's 100 octane, not like a brand to brand difference between car parts. I'd leave that up to your tuner in regards to what timing advance he/she can get out of a higher octane fuel.
If you've got Sards, why worry whether it's got ethanole or not? Sard injectors should be ethanole safe.
foflmao zex300, you impress me with your humour....:whatever: i dont put ethanole blends in the Z. I dont even put united in the car anyway, but this 100 octane...might give it a whirl.
Isn't V-Power Racing 100RON? Nothing new there. Only a hand full of Shells around Brisbane sell it. Unless they don't anymore. Tried it out over a year ago but car was stock then and didn't really notice much. I'll stick to my BP Ultimate for now.
I often use the 98 octane United brand. In QLD it is 3 cpl dearer then unleaded (not 13 c). A Bargain compared to 13cpl for vpower, optimax or ultimate. I have had no issues with it, and ran my 12.6 1/4 mile time on it.
12.7 you sneaky bugger. 12. Pexzed Greg Peck AT 0.867 1.924 108.46 12.695 T Even a calculator would round that up.
They never round in drag racing, even a 12.699 is called a 12.6! An 11.999 is called an eleven second pass but if you are 1/1000th of a second slower (12.000) it sounds like you were a whole second slower!
hehe I've been trying to explain that to Karl for the last 2 years but now Cameron has done the manual conversion and is looking to get some 19" rims, we can expect some even slower 1/4 mile times :zlove::bash:
