This has been a problem for about a couple of months now thought it may sort itself out...

    Basically here is the symptoms...

5 cylinders on start up pretty sure its the same one that fails on start up.. once the car is warm no worries at all except i think there may be a slight miss coming from that same side but as i said once she is warm all six no power loss nothing and the 5 cylinder thing pretty much only does it till im about 2 blocks away from my house then its fine all 6 again...

    Ideas?

Yeah, those wooden shoes can be a real bitch sometimes ;)

Seriously though, it sounds like a connector that's just a little too loose when temps are low, and expands enough once the engine is warm to provide a solid contact. If it's a cylinder specific problem it'll be either the coilpack connector or injector connector, so find out which one is the culprit and retension/clean.

Dodgy connector or a sticky valve.

Pex has the same problem with his. One cyclinder at the rear will not fire until it is warm. I think he nailed it to be an injector which aint worth changing until the plenum comes off but I think the lot will be changed out with biggerer ones when that happens;)

:help: What are you trying to say?

Who are the guys at work? Mechanics or check out chicks?

Carbon build up on valves can cause this and a compression check could show this up. Which cylinder isn't firing when cold?

Mine is Cyl 5 and is a sticky valve/lifter. Will be taken care of at the engine rebuild. It even may be the cause of the rebuild if it gets worse. It's been like it for 18 months now, just roughens idle when cold. at 60 degs coolant temp and above it's fine. Ran my 12.6 1/4 mile time with the engine like this :)

I know my injector and spark plug is firing, but still no combustion in that pot. Can smell fuel out the exhaust until it smooths out.
