    can i ask:
how many people have bought these and had them all work out fine, no hitches, still going strong after a couple of months? I'd quite like to get myself a set but a bit unsure due to the latest issues with ballasts etc

I have a set on order, has anyone had any issues with fitting to the car?

I read an article that the HID "Startup" draws up to 30 amps! which is only for a microsecond, and could damage the cars internal switches and wiring?

Has anyone had problems with switches or wiring burning out or failing, and would it be an advantage to fit relays to the switching of the units on, and hard wiring the balasts direct to the battery system.

I asked an auto electriction, who would like to look at em when I receive em

Is any one not happy with them?
    Thanks

    Stu

Bought a 6000k kit for my gf's brothers IS200 and its been working flawlessly since Christmas. Also bought a pair of 4300k D2S bulbs for myself and they work great

With regards to the question on relays, it all depends on the size of the wires going to the headlight. But for my own sake i would never run a kit without a separate relay/fused power source (i dont want to find out the hard way that my wires werent thick enough).

Only bad thing about these kits is that they dont come with a relay harness; but for this price you can just go down to Jaycar, buy a horn relay + relay socket + inline fuse holder and build your own for around $10

The external relay isnt really neccesary, IF it doesnt blow the fuse on start up (and we know the steady state current is lower) the wiring will be fine.

The 30 amp strike current is for a very short period of time, milliseconds. Getting the wiring to overheat takes many many seconds at 30 amps ( well over 30 seconds) and in any case the fuse would blow before any damage is done.

Forget the relay. more shit to go wrong.

ok i promised myself that i wouldnt spend money on the zed but its too hard to resist and this is the cheapest, most effective mod to releive the mod bug so im down for a 4300k low beam (thats h3 right?).
