    Hi all,

With the ever so popular Z community growing day by day, most of you will not know me, but for all you old school who do.

Thought I'd pop in to say hi and that I am still around, no I havn't got another Z, but I have been busy playing with my new toy (6 months now) it's coming together nicely, been busy with work and stuff, so I only have a few hours a week of play time.

For those of you who are playing at home, it's a '93 Suzuki Swift Convertible (Factory) I used to have a turbo charged Swift GTi but I sold that back in Feb, and then this little beauty came up for sale and I had to snatch it up, I've been searching for one of these for about 6 years! As I have been told, only about 15 got privately imported here, so the question is, how many of the 15 are still out and about?

She was very rough and standard when I got it, I have spent many hours rubbing it back and making sure all the panels are straight, and this body kit is the worst fit ever! So I did the best I can to make it all fit. It's got a fresh coat of paint, silver base, ferrari red with a slight of purple and blue pearl, the orginal paint was red, as everyone knows red fades and this car was no exception.

Since this picture was taken, the side mirrors and the petrol cap is now on, rims will follow shortly, leather interior, sound system, and also a FULL GTi running gear transplant is in the works, thats when Im able to find a rear ended GTi to do the conversion, at the moment its only a 1.3ltr 16valve single cam EPI with a CVT auto tranny, and also depending how deep my pocket is, I'm considering getting some air bags suspension.

Beside this car, I also got a little Toyota Starlet GT as my daily car to run around in :)

    red32 You talkin' to me?

G'day, Tay! Nice to have you back!
That GTi was a little beast (for those who don't know, it would have put any NA Zed I know of to shame, and quite a few of the TT's, too!) Post up some more piccies when you have the convo finished (and a dyno chart!)
    Stay cool!

Geez, it's been just over a year since I first posted this thread

Just thought I'd post an update.

Well, I'm still around, busy with work, well was, I'm taking a break from IT and will be taking a few months off to unwind, relax, travel and some me time to catch up on some hobbies, etc...I'm off to Hong Kong and China on Jan 1st so I can't wait for that!

I see some of the old school boys are still around which is good :) Hope to catch up on the next tech day or something.

Anywho, just thought I post some pics of my convertible and the progress so far. Since my last post, I converted this to full GTi running gear, got my rims and thats about it, I got some more plans but I'm in no rush :)

Here's my other Toy mentioned on my first post.

And my latest favourite toy :D

I just recently got myself a little '87 Suzuki Alto Works RS-R, it's a 550cc Twin Cam All Wheel Drive Turbo, it's heaps of fun to drive, pretty much a street legal go-kart, redline is at 9,000rpm and max is 13,000rpm, it has no problems reaching those figures, my speedo only goes up 120km/h, anything after that, the speed limiter kicks in.
This is a power house :D dynoed at 36kw on all four wheels :D

I don't know what it is about you Tay, but you seem to come up with some of the nicest small cars I've ever seen...
Does this mean 9Kw per wheel, or a total of 144Kw? :p

Hey guys thanks for the comments.

Yes I'm still around, been hiding in the shadows most of the time on the forum, I don't visit/read as much as I used to, but I'm still around none the less.

    red32
Ever since I sold the Zed and got my first GTi, I've been fascinated in little small cars and never looked back, plus I'm picky with my cars and want it to look a certain way :D
Hehehe, nope, it's just 9kw per wheel, everything is standard on the car except a pod filter, car is running 9psi as standard and ever since I slapped on the filter, I kid you not, you can hear the turbo whine/spooling from a mile away and the flutter bloody loud.

    JEDI-77
Yes indeed it has been a while!
As for coming back to the Zed? maybe, I still have a soft spot for Zeds, well I nearly bought one at one stage, until two owners stuffed me around, and that kinda put me off, I still want another Zed sometime down the track to play with.

    Chad_
If I do decide to sell it, it will be some rediculous price!
Ever since I knew they existed and a few were floating around Australia, I have been searching ever since (5 years). When one finally make up in South Australia, the car was rough as guts but it made the trip back to Melbourne and started the transformation to what it is now.

As usual Tay that is a fine collection and the work is a credit to your determination to get things right. You have come a long way from the guy I helped with the snapped TPS bolt all those years ago.:D

Geez, it's been a while! Yet another year (almost) and another thread :)

Grab a cuppa, I try to make it short :)

Just noticed, I tend to only update this thread when I have a new toy, and yep, you guessed it, I do have a new toy I would like to share.

I have been hiding in the shadows of this forum, I don't visit as much as I would like to but I still visit and see how things are going on this neck of the woods.

Most people don't know me, but for the old schoolers, hey guys :) I'm still around :) I don't get up too much these days, just busy helping out with my family business. I know it's late, but I do apologise for last year's no show at the xmas dinner that Mark organised, for some reason I forgotten about it and I didn't receive an email notification of new PM's. Only to find out later by Ben, then when I checked my PM, holy crap, there is was

Recently I have purchased yet another unique car, it's a 1988 Suzuki Every (a.k.a Carry/Super Carry here in Australia) This is not your ordinary Van, the easiest way I can describe it is, it's a Suzuki's version of a HSV/FPV model.
Under the hood, I should say, under the seat :) is a 550cc 5 Speed Manual Turbo Charged rear wheel drive Van running on standard 11psi of boost :)
I wont go into all the fine details but the first owner of this car when it was first imported back in 2004, made this once white coloured van into Ford's Acid Citris Green (something along those lines) with blue pearl and installed a big stereo.
The Van is not quick, but it sure is fun to drive, the look on people's face is priceless, it is a really small van, measuring in at 3.1m long, 1.4m wide, 1.85m high. Its even more priceless faces when I let off a, what do people call it these days? Da fully sik Cooler Dozes/Flutter??? I use this car as my daily driver, I've had my eyes on this VAN for quite some time and in a matter of a year or two, it was sold 6 times and I'm the 7th owner and probably the last :) I work for my brother and the business is called "CLOVER" and the Van happens to be green so this VAN was a perfect fit.
In the Suzuki community, they dubbed this Van as the "PIMP WAGON", after seeing the pics below you will know why. The whole Van is standard, apart from the paint work, stereo gear and wheels oh and the hacked up front bar, I managed to find myself an original front bar for the Van it's currently on a container from Japan and should receive it shortly. It's the same front bar, minus the cut out, I will be getting a smaller cooler and it will be nicely tucked away behind the front bar.

The 2 rear seats can fold down flat and up against the 2 front seats to make way for the mattress :) Mattress + Black Curtains = ??? (Use your imagination :))

Here's some pics of the stereo, I just recently upgraded the stereo, new roof mount fold down screen, new all in one head unit and a LCD rear vision mirror screen.

Roof mount stereo, 2 big 12inch subs!

My new 15.3inch roof mount fold out LCD screen. Just to the right of the screen is, yes, a black curtain for that extra privacey :)

My new LCD rear vision mirror screen, this will be hooked up to my rear vision camera when I get one.

My new head unit, it has everything from A-Z.

To "RedZedMikey", that disco ball you keep asking me about? Well I have one better, it's no disco ball, but I do have a disco light show that does its thing to the beat of the music :) And also my downlights :)

My EQ on the left there and also those 2 little red things, they are my switches for my disco light and down lights.

For some reason, I can't edit my old posts, I've changed ISP's and need to update my links. So below are just pictures of my other cars.

For info on my other cars, check my other posts.

This was my car, but I have now sold it to my brother, I still drive it sometimes, this is a fun little car.

    Engine fits like a glove.

Check out the redline on this little monster.

And my Starlet GT, had to sell this to get the Van, this was a quick little beast.

    Nice BIG front mount.

.........There should be a Zed in there somewhere, I still have a sweet spot for the Zed, so one day :)

Well thank you all for taking your time to read my lengthy post :) And hope to catch up with some of you in the not to distant future :)

    Cheers
